Here is my situation..... I am in the process of working on a very basic light show including:

2 Mac 250's
2 Roboscan 518's
4 Robocolor 400's
1 Mega Flash Strobe

The board that has been provided to me is a Stage Setter 8..... something i am not accustomed to working with but in this situation I have to make it work - project manager is working on a limited budget.....

So here is the problem..... I am having issues switching from scanner to scanner... is this even possible on this board? trying to see if the board is even viable for the needs of the project..... lots of pin point lighting placement is needed and it is 100% imperative that I have 100% control over each light for all programming..

Probably overly tired from staring at this board for too damn long..... any and all help will be appriciated.....

Thank you in advance,

Laz~

Laz... your trying to squeeze water out of a rock with this controller.
The stage setter 8 is made to work with 8 - 16 par cans..
only for par cans..max channels is 16 DMX channels.

You need an inteligent lighting controller with 70+ DMX channels.
people confuse a DMX controller for an intelligent lighting controller.

DMX is used for conventional lights which are par cans and for intelligent lights.. which is what you have.

Have your project manager break down and buy you an Intelligent DMX lighting contoller.

my recomendations from less expensive to better.

Magic 260
ShowDesigner 1

All by Elation.. Best regards,
I will look into those options.... have to come up with a new solution - this project has been pieced together out of the ruins of a warehouse for the most part Big Grin so many bits and pieces laying around - would like to put as much of it to use as possible Big Grin But it seems like with most of the gear salvaged it seems to have stopped anywhere from a inch to a mile short of expectation and needs Smiler

I will look into those controllers as soon as I complete this post..... thank you again.

Laz,

feel safe in knowing that your almost there.
The only thing holding you back is that controller.
That and knowing if the light fixtures you have really work or not.
The stage setter 8 you have can be used to test your lights but not to program them.

You will need to make sure you have a few things on hand.
1. User manual for you lights. you can down load them from the manufacturers website.
2. Look speficially for the DMX channel chart on the user manual.
3. Plug in the lights and then use the stage setter 8 to see if they work.. just make sure they are all set to DMX channel 1.

Best regards, good luck
