Hey, so I am helping my church out with lighting, and I got them switched over to CompuWare, and now we have a problem. Well, not really a problem, more of an annoyance. So, I had the entire show programed with out having the lights, i had never worked with there lights, but their other tech guy told me what they had, and I programed them. The lights in question are the American DJ par 36 LED lights. Here is what is happening. SO I programed the show, and then when I got there, all of the pars were dimming on and off. Other than that everything was working. I knew it wasn't a data problem, as everything before and after it was working, just those 6 pars. All of the functions worked, color etc, but they dimmed on and off constantly. Fast forward to today, i took a couple pars home and played with them, and figured out it was channel 6 which conrols some random dimming thing. In all the scenes I had programed in the visulizer the values of channel 6 were all set to like 63. I turned that channel down to 0, and know the lights work fine. I do not understand the purpose of a dimmer channel on led lights anyways. So i decided we would just avoid channel 6. Enter problem two. I started programming for next sunday, making sure that all the channel 6 values were set to 0, and then when i looked at my first couple of cues, they were not showing up in the visualizer. I tried putting the dimmer value back to 63, and then they show up in the visualizer just fine. So what is the deal here?????

Second question. What is the deal with the profile for the American DJ MEGA PIXEL LED DMX COLOR BAR?

I just purchased 2 and have not gotten them yet, but I thought I would start work in the visualizer. They just show up as little light up boxes! Is there a real profile for them yet, that like shows basic throw and the like? Second, I want to program them in the 28 channel mode, caus I am a control freek, but that profile is a nightmare. They only actual show part of it as rgb, and the rest of it is just a joke. Where can I know i can still program them without having a pretty working profile for easy 3d, but then I could just as well be using a board.

HELP!!!!!

Thanks!

First let me say, dont rely on the visualizer! I have had several different lights that would not show up as being on, even though they were on at the actual light.

There is a setting on channel 6 that makes the light go dim/bright/dim, and it sounds like the dmx values are off on the program. I would just program the light in real time, if thats not possible you will have to do it as close as possible in the visualizer and tweak it live.

In regards to your other question, alot of lights dont show up right, and they definately arent right on throws/etc.
