blackout issue

do you have the screen saver setting on your computer on? I've seen that happen before the solution to that is to turn off that setting on your computer.

Screen saver not on. I have set up my system in my garage again. It was working fine for a few hours. As I was physically adjusting a fixture, the lights flickered and then went out. When I would unplug the USB cable for the DMX and plug it back in, the lights would be back on but only for a second, then most of them flicker and they go out again. I did unhook the fixture that I was playing with when the lights went out, rebooted everything but that didn't help either. I thought about reinstalling the software, but when I go to options and do that, it just says I'm up to date with no option to reinstall.

what version of the software do you have installed? the latest should be 1.03.40

ok do you have another computer you can try it with? it also could be a bad cable. how old is the emulation cable?

I do have another computer to try. I went to the website and downloaded the software but when I open the disc image, there is no installer. What do I do, just drag and drop the icon to the desktop?

both files are there. where did you download it from?

I got it off the elationlighting website. I downloaded it to my wife's Macbook Pro which is newer than mine. Because it is unverified third party software, I had to use the control button to open the disc image. That window shows the Emulation icon, release notes icon and a thumbnail for applications. What would be my next step?

the download from our site has the dmg file in it so you can install it. not sure why it wont allow you to do so. send me an email and ill send you another link you can try so you can download it.

The file you sent me was the same. I can open emulation off the disc image, but there is no prompt to install it. What is the next step in the installation process?

not sure what that could be. you should be able to install it from that. you might have to check your settings on your computer.

Are you saying that when I double click on the emulation icon that an installer should appear? What should normally happen?

what i sent you is the install file for the emulation software. so you need to uninstall what you had previously and install the one i sent you.

But how do I uninstall?

you have to remove it from your computer. on a mac i am not sure.

I installed the emulation software on a newer Macbook Pro an so far it is working flawlessly! Thank you so much for your help and prompt attention to my problem.
