Re: Design Spot 250 Pro doesn't initialize

I just purchased four Design Spot 250 Pro's and having a weird issue with two, which I have to assume means I'm doing something wrong...

Two work fine.

Two of them, when plugged in, are unresponsive, except the cooling fans DO come on. But the LCD displays do not light up and the fixtures do not move.

I have tried them with/without DMX, in the same/different power as the others. No rhyme or reason why those two. Does this happen sometimes due to shipping? A loose ribbon cable or something?

Hi Adam, sorry i missed this post over the weekend. if you remove the metal lid on the display side of the unit, you will see a main PCB. there are 2 or 3 fuses located on it. they are 7 amp gma fuses. most likely one of those fuses is blown. please take a look and let me know.

I finally got the lights up on the bench and it was exactly that: Fuse "F2" on the main logic board was bad -- on BOTH of my brand-new lights! So, an easy fix but what an odd coincidence,
perhaps a bad batch of fuses?

Anyway, problem is solved. Thank you!
