Good morning

I have an Elation DP-DMX20L Dimmer/Relay pack that I purchased to control some of my Ellect lights as well as some Par cans. I added the profile in Compuware (the 64 par can one) and told it I had 4 of them (Per each channel) and still when I Turn it on it turns all of them on at once. Is there a way I can individually assign each Chanel to its individual "fader" so i can control that individual light.

You guys are awssome.

Jeff, it looks like you told Compu to assign all the fixtures to one channel. What you want to do is assign each fixture or dimmer number to its own channel, this way you can control each one by itself.

By assigning 4 lights to one channel, you made it so one channel controls fours lights. It is kind of like X-Box 360 and Rock Band. You can assign guitars to all be 'controller one'. The issue is they all only control the first player then. If, however, you assign them to 1, 2, and 3, they then control players 1, 2, and 3 respectively.
Woah! first time ever hearing a xbox to DMX analogy! haha. good one serra.
Jeff to set up your pars to run individually here's the steps you need to do.
New page> scan library wizard> generic folder> Par 64> starting address (What ever your DPDMX20L starts at)> number of fixtures should be 4 then proceed with hitting next a bunch of times and your page will load. Let me know if this works.
Sincerely,
I like the X-Box thing. lol.

I did try that but its still showing everything as on, I have tried on the relay pack Ch1, Ch2, and Ch4, and nothing seems to work. I have made some screen shots to show you. IDK really know if it will help you but here it goes It also if i hit the button next to on it does a Chase mode, so I dont know.

I have my Relay switch set to DMX channel 50, this screen shot show it in the OFF position

This particular shows me pressing the ON Button and it activates all four channels of the Relay pack

Just for gigiles I made a copy of the Settings of the Par 64

So I'm really not sure why its not working. i'm pulling my hair out. Umm maybe I should get a new DMX relay pack and see if it does it on that. I havent tried it on my DMX operator yet. Would you reccomend me do that to see if it is a setting in the Relay pack.

I'll have a Youtube video to show you more what I'm talking about in about an hour hopefully.

Again thanks for all your help and all you guys do.

It might very well be a setting in the pack itself as you have stated. Not familar with the pack, so when I get time I will get the manual and look it over real quick.

Some dimmers have modes on them. This means that while it is a 4 channel pack, only one DMX channel triggers all four channels, just like the X-Box thing again.

The Elation DP-640B takes this a step farther. It has a really cool feature that let's you patch each dimmer to whichever channel you would like. Really useful when working with my Hog since it doesn't let me patch multiple channels to the same address (basic function on just about every other console with a patch in it, but not this one Confused). It can also dim without a console, and panic switches are again really useful for focusing or emergencies. All and all a great product I would highly recommend to anyone.

Sorry for the mini review, just kinda kept coming out lol. We now return to your regularly scheduled forum topic.
