Hi everyone!

I just got an Elation DMX Operator 196, and the midi doesn't work with it. The problem is this:

The unit can't separate incoming midi information on the right midi channel. If the unit it set to midi channel 1, and if something happens at the same time on another midi channel, it will often respond to that channel instead, if the information is something that the unit can interpret ( in other words, a midi note between 0-52). I've had 2 Showtec Scanmaster 2 MKIIs before I got this Elation DMX Operator 196 (which is basically the same controller). One had the exact same problem from the start, and the other developed it very quickly (within a couple of minutes).

So I'm basically asking, does anybody know why this problem is so common with DMX controllers of this design, and is there a way to avoid it? So far, all 3 controllers I've tried had the same problem. They are basically useless when it comes to being controlled via midi, since you have no control.

Regards
Niklas
