Hello,

My name is Brock and I run sound and lights for a bar in Moncton, NB, Canada.

I just got my lighting controller in today and I'm looking for some advice on how to address everything.

I have an Elation Pro DMX Controller and I'm looking to hook up 2 X Lumi 4 X Par Bar and a Chauvet 6 - spot.

I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm reading manuals as we speak but I'm looking for advice on setting the addresses for the fixtures.

I'd like to have the lumi's paired and I'm using the 6 spot as my spot lights, so I'd like to have the most control over that unit.

I'm not sure if I'm providing the right information to get the answers I need, but let's start there and see what you suggest.

I'm still reading and learning so I may end up learning the answer, but I would appreciate some opinions if anyone cares to share.

Thank you.

This seems useful.... from another post.

I've gone back and done some more investigating on this.....

When I choose fixture 1 I have access to the first 8 channels. When I push the bank button, then I have access to 9-16. If I address my second fixture on channel 9 (wich would be address 9) I can control the next 7 channels for that fixture.

When I choose fixture 2 (That address is 17) again i have control over the next 7 channels. When I hit channel bank, i now have access to the next 8 channels, but if I address a fixture on 25, that is the first channel of that bank (9) again I have control over that fixture.

What this says to me, each fixture has 16 channels but I've essentially split that so each fixture has 8 channels, thus 16 fixtures. This only works if your fixtures only use 8 channels. Which mine only use 8.

I hope maybe this is right and may help some people out.

cheers.
Hello,

I can definitely assist you with this. Can you please tell me which controller you have? Is it the Operator PRO? If so, the left side of the controller will control your intelligent fixtures. They will have to be addressed to 16 channels apart from each other. I can better explain this to you if you can send me an email at JoelChen@americandj.com. Thanks!
