Check out the HZ-300. It is under a grand and is strictly a hazer. The only issue is it is oil based.

If oil based is an issue, check out the X-310. It costs more, but is water based and can work as a fogger as well. If too much money, check out the Z-300. It is a lot cheaper then the X-310, but has about 40% less output and no DMX control either.

If using the X-310 or the Z-300 for haze, I would recommend X-Fog Pro fluid since it hangs loner then X-Fog fluid. Oil based will give the best effect and hang the longest, but some places won't let you use it, some people hate the smell, and it will leave more of a residue behind then water based will.
I just recently bought the HZ-300 and love it. It is oil based, but unless you are going to be using it every day in the same venue, you won't be able to tell any oil build-up at all. Also, I cannot smell my haze at all and I use the X-Fog Pro Oik based fluid. I have a buddy who uses this machine as well for his band and they play 5 nights a week. No oil buildup on anything except the outlet of the machine itself, so just make sure and clean it regularly. Got mine for a really low price! Good luck!

I am purchasing the HZ-300 and gettin the water-based fluid:

From the manual:
ANTARI Hazer Liquid comes in two varieties:
* ANTARI HZL-1 is a high-performance low-residue oil-based hazer liquid that has
been designed specifically for HZ-100, HZ-300 and HZ-400.
* ANTARI HZL-1W is a non-residual water-based hazer liquid suitable for the
HZ-100, HZ-300 and HZ-400.

My dealer is advising me to go with the HZL-1 because of "better hang time". I am choosing the HZL-1W for no residue. The oil-based stuff tends to annoy me a bit and I also don't want to gunk up my gear. I can always change fluids if I don't like what I'm seeing. He's a good reseller and ships fast. Losing some cash on a gallon of fluid isn't as bad as buying a bad bit of gear.

I may change my mind and go with the HZL-1 fliud for my initial purchase.
