Concerning the fiture profile editor, who here understands the meaning and function of the "MASTER" check boxes?
Does this mean that the channel's value is scaled proportionally to the Master Fader, as in it will dim when the master fader is pulled down? Would this channel go to zero when in blackout?
I hope somebody here can shed a little light on the subject (ok, pun intended).

When I built my fixture profiles, I didn't have the master box checked, so the Fader, Speed and Master sliders didn't effect anything. Once I rebuilt my profiles with the box checked all three of these sliders effected my fixtures. I also found these sliders are relative to the values when you record your scenes. So, if you want a scene to be as bright as possible, have the Master slider all the way up before hitting the record button. Fade slider also effects how quickly the scenes fade to the next. So, if you record a scene with the Fade slider all the way up, you can slow down how quickly the scenes fade to the next, but you won't be able to speed them up. This is also true for the Speed slider which controls the duration of each scene. I'm new to all of this and am not a professional lighting designer. However, I find it most prudent to have the Fade and Speed sliders in mid range and the Master slider all the way up when recording scenes.
