I have version 1.3.40 and yes the USB end of the adapter is plugged in to my MacMini. Supposedly, from the Hardware tab in the Options menu I should be able to confirm the CueCable is properly connected, but I don't see any indicators change when I unplug from my DMX loop.
I am assuming I don't need to enable ArtNet for using basic functionality, correct?
you might have to update the software. our current version is 1.03.41. also when you plug it in do you see the DMX light in the software light up red? that will indicate that the software and the cable are communicating. and in the DMX monitor you will see it go from 0-100% when there is a value being sent out.
I downloaded the software from your website on Saturday so it should have been the latest. Because the disk drive is external on the MacMini, I couldn't get the software to automatically install from the disk provided in the box. After installing the software, I clicked on 'check for updates' and none were found.
As far as the red DMX light in the software, it was red before I ever plugged in the cable so I assumed it was a 'dummy' light.
So what is the proper startup sequence? I have assumed the USB/DMX adapter needs to be connected to the computer and DMX input prior to opening(booting) the Elation program.
Ok, I will get the software updated.
As far as setup goes, can you confirm a couple of things, please.
First, I found all of my fixtures within the patch menu in the software so I assume all of the profiles are already there. I just see a lot of posts for downloading additional profiles and want to make sure I don't need anything additional.
Second, I have patched all of my fixtures in the software and assigned the proper dmx address to each fixture. My first three fixtures are 26 channel each so fixture 1,2 and 3 start at DMX address 1,27 and 53, accordingly. For these three fixtures, what values should I expect to see for addresses 1-78 in the DMX Monitor? Will the values change in the DMX Monitor based on what channel in the light is currently active?
