Just thought i would start here before doing anything drastic. Sometimes when using Elation Emulation I get a lag or delay between making a selection and the software actually responding. Regardless of if i cue it direct from PC or from my Midicon controller. My laptop is an Asus with a Intel I7 processor , 6 gb Ram and plenty of Hard drive space. I have made sure I don't have any unnecessary processes running. My question is "Does anyone else have this problem ?"
"Is it usually more of a Ram issue or a Processor issue ?" I definitely notice it when more scenes are running , however releasing all the scenes doesn't fix the problem. Restarting the software does. Also, does over riding a fixture in the programmer section temporarily to say adjust the haze output/fan speed on a hazer use more resources than a cue ? I noticed it alot at a gig last week and i was doing alot of on the fly stuff with my hazer in the programmer section while i had scenes running. Maybe this is not a good idea and just creating a scene for haze might be more efficient. I don't know. I have seen the software slow down without doing anything in the programmer section anyway, so maybe it has nothing to do with it. Overall , I guess i'm just looking for any advice I can get to help make the software keep up with me at a gig so I dont need to restart. I feel this computer should be more than enough power to handle what im throwing at it. Any suggestions as where to start ? Any help is much appreciated
