Re: Proton 3k Strobe 80,000 lumens

Whilst we love our Proton strobes, we have been wondering about the brightness claims made by Elation.

Can someone from Elation please clarify how you are getting 80,000 lumens out of 606w worth of LEDs in the Proton strobe, when the very best currently commercially available LEDs are only capable of producing 100 lumens per watt in prolonged use.

I'd love to be able to explain this to my clients.

In the link above, it states that the cool white LED delivers 136 lumens per watt.

202 LEDs x 3W/LED = 606W

606W x 136 lumens/W = 82,416 lumens
