Hi. I just received an original American DJ label Show Designer with version 1.08 M1 on it. I went on the ADJ website and downloaded what I think is the only available update for it.

I'm having some trouble with the unit. The unit powers on just fine. I'm not too sure how to add my new lights. I have the Galaxian, Scorpion Storm FX, Chauvet ColorStrips, Chauvet vue 1.1, Chauvet FallOut. All LED, multiple DMX Channels, and I don't have any of these listed in the controller.

I was able to add the scorpion storm FX as a "Generic Dimmer" however only the first fader worked to operate it.

I also only have Apple computers. Am I still able to update this unit with a USB to RS232 cable?

That unit would be very old and can only be updated to version 1.12 without changing the microcontroller. I would just leave it as is and create the new fixtures from the menu. Use the "edit fixture" menu to do this. Choose any fixture from the library to start with and then edit all the settings to match the light. Use the "copy fixture" to duplicate it as much as needed.

You're right, that stuff was added later. The only thing you can do is choose an older fixture that is close to what you are using now, same number of channels if possible. To update that unit, you would have to send it in and have it worked on. It's probably not worth the trouble to do that. Those models were discontinued quite a few years ago and replaced with the SD1 from Elation.
