Testing DMX system

I am trying to troubleshoot a system that is already installed and was operational in the past. It has a Show Designer 1 and 16 Design Spot 250 Pro fixtures all hooked up.
At the moment only fixt 1 and fixture 6 seem to have any functions.
What would be a way to do a quick check to see if all fixtures work? I am only now starting to learn how to program with DMX and am not that good yet.

Thanks for the offer of help, but for the moment everything has returned to normal and all 16 cans are working as usual.
I am still going to learn how to program the DMX until I am fluent in writing shows that show off the lights capabilities. I will continue to read discussion in this forum and I am learning a lot!
