When i hit a preset switch they both move but not on the same direction. The colors change at the same time but for example one faces up while the other one face to the side. Somebody told me it was a problem with the pan and tilt. Do they have to have the same settings? If so how should the settings for pan and tilt look like?

your gonna want to check the user manual for the lights to set them both to the same setting. I can't remember the menu layout at this time sorry. I think it is probably something like if u keep hitting the UP or DOWN buttons till either RPAN or something like that cones up. Once you find it turn it off on both your fixtures and then try the preset switches again. Sincerely,

Hi Tony, This feature you are looking for actually exsists. It is called a Focus Preset. Meaning you create master scene positions. then you record all your scenes based on these master scene positions. When you go to a different venue all you do is adjust the Focus Presets and all your scenes adjust to the new position. Unfortunatly.. Compu Live does not have this feature implemented. Its do to come out on a future release, but there is not way of doing this on Compu Live. Best regards,

Hi Misbeam, Missing buttons are cuased when you name one preset the same as another preset. for example if you have stars.. in two different places on the same channel one of the star icons will not show. you would have to rename the second stars as star2. Once you have a clear seperation of names you will see your functions when the page loads. Hope this helps.

I dont actually have any shows saved yet. These problems are happening just manually turning the lights on or using any of the preset fades in the software. I think they are the lower end ones. Actually i am sure they are because i know they are not 1 watt led's.

no theres no way for us to do that in the 3D. Our developers dont program macros or preset movement unless it is one of the preset switches like circle and stuff you see. those switches work differently than built into the head programs. for the internal programs the values come from the head itself not the controller. on the preset switches the values come from the controller. make sense? i may be able to fix the color and gobo scroll. sincerely,

DJ Salf, The Magic 260 will only allow you to program preset points and not movements. You can only edit the existing preset movements.

There is a way to do PRESET positions the same way you would do a movement. But instead of movement you want to record it as a static scene. You cannot do PRESETS on color's and gobos.

i have figured out most of the features of the BCF2000 and its presets. I am not sure what you mean to "unlock" the presets, but i think i know what you are going through. the bcf2000 sends information to your computer through a certain amount of channels.(i cant remember if its 127 or 255) Anyway, the BCF's presets have overlapping channels. So when you change something in preset 1, you may be changing something assigned in a different preset. To fix this you need to go into the console...

So they will be hung upside down on a t bar? and just two fixtures. should be easy. How big is the room you are playing in? Like height, width, and depth? i could program a few scenes and switches no big deal. All you do is save the file that i would send you to your SL2006 folder. and yes if you are playing back a preset movement and you hit a switch and the switch was programed correctly then it will overlay the preset switch. its kinda hard to explain but it will work. if I just use the static colors or preset programs for color change or chase, they appear to work fine, no flicker that I've noticed, but you cannot dim a static color, you need RGB mode for that (I took the Colorstrip-RGB fixture profile and editted it to a Colorstrip-Static profile) I could really care less about RGB mixing, in any fixture, but in this case, it's the only way to not have the color on full-blast so if it's a clocking issue, I wondered if anyone had tried a splitter or...

Hey mark. Sorry for the delay in response. 1) I don't believe so. The fader is proportioned in size to fit the button. 2)You can preview the profile in the scan library editor. It lets you see what is set up for each individual preset on each channel. Look in the SL2006 folder and look for scanlibrary.exe 3) I personally never use the easy time editor to make movements. Hi Audio, You need to add values to DMX step of your profile. say ch 3 special step 1 max speed fromdmx 0 toDMX 14 Step DMX needs to be 7. 7 is between 0 and 14. do this for every step of every channel. Also chan 4 you can assign preset row to color chan 5 you can assign preset row to gobo chan 6 preset row can also be gobo channel 8 prism can be preset row effect this is all very important for chase functions to work..your profile has to be correct.

Sure it does. by creating and installing the library you can now use the preset button above to set page to F1 and you can select colors and gobos to change using buttons. you can also record scene positions, movements or preset positions to the buttons then transfer those to the playback masters. I saw some postings on here about some of you having trouble with colorstrip not working with compulive. The truth on the whole thing is, they will work but not fully. They have half the refresh rate on them as the compulive puts out. Do not know why chauvet made them that way. The only way to get to halfway work is to set it up as a generic fixture and adjust the first channel. that will get you the preset colors without flickering and a handfull of effects. The reason it does this is when i create the profile i set up a default value for the gobo shutter and dimmer values. when the preset switches are created and activated it grabs this default value information and activates it. No not in the profile set up. when I write the profile itself. In the profile creator I select white and gobo open and shutter open and dimmer channel as defaults. That way the 3D viz. knows when to open the shutter and gobo etc. If I were to change in the profile itself say gobo number 3 as the default for the gobo channel when you select a preset movement it would then "default" to gobo 3. good idea! i just tried it and it works however it copies the color to the switch and it will always be that color. what I did was I clicked on one of the preset shape movements like the star and it came on white. Now I right clicked on one of the color from the color wheel and dragged it over the star switch and released the right click and the software asked if I wanted to copy and I said yes. and now whenever I hit that same star it is the color I copied over. Haven't seen this feature implemented yet. Also, on the numbered buttons at the bottom of the screen. I know they will act as bump buttons, but that appears to be their only function. Having them act as preset buttons would be really cool.

Ok This is weird... I made the cables myself so I KNOW that they are ok. I always test my cables. So just in case I checked and tested again. All Ok. So i was going through scenes and redoing the X and Y axis as i had moved a few fixtures around. Long story short...The pars work as long as I use preset colors. If i try to use any RGB mixing they wont work. As I was looking at things I notice that in all of my scenes if I had used any RGB mixing to make the colors they had dimmed...

I will try to make them brief and to the point. 1.resizing windows - is there a way to resize the scene and switch windows inside the master window without affecting the other? If i try to resize the master window it changes the size of the windows inside the main window. 2.How can i move the compressed pages inside the scene or switch window to sort them my way?

In the creator the "Step"s are for each preset in a fixture. For example a color wheel will have several steps like 0-10 white/open. 11-20 red, 21-30 blue, etc. Make sense? Each step in the profile creator is a preset in the DMX chart. The reason the magic scrolls in increments of 5 DMX values is because it is easier to scroll through the whole 0-255 range this way without constantly rotating the wheel. I'm hanging two ellipsoidals about 25 ft in front of the stage as stationary "followspots" (one aimed at center stage, one aimed further out for when we attach the catwalk extension to the stage). All of these lights are on dimmer packs with assignable DMX addresses, for a total of 6 channels. That would leave 18 channels available for 6 RGB LEDs (in 2x24 double preset mode), or 14 RGB LEDs in 1x48...

There is no MIDI function to do what you are asking for. You can put up to 8 pars on a conventional dimmer fader but the DMX addresses have to be consecutive like 20-27. To put a group of movers on a dimmer fader you can try making a scene or preset with just the dimmer channels included, no other channels. Assign the scene or preset to a playback that's in HTP mode. The fader will control the dimmer for any movers in the preset or scene. Otherwise the Grand Master and the Flex master are...

Soap, welcome to the forums. Making or editing profiles can be quite tricky if your not sure of the effect using a certain preset can have. Beam warning: means that you need to select a default preset level for the shutter, gobo, dimmer, iris, zoom, etc channels where the beam is effected on the fixture. Some presets do not use color effects: if your selecting a color from the color section of the channels you need to have the effect above set too color wheel, this tells the 3D to use that...

The Step DMX is the median value between the range of dmx values for that preset. It is the "default" value. but like I said if you make all these presets if you use the "fine" button it will scroll through each single dmx value on that channel. so if you had a fixture that had a color split function and you turned it on the way to manual adjust the exact split of the color would be to use the fine button and then move the dial for the color wheel. For that to happen there has to be an event in the scene that calls the unwanted position before calling the new one. If you are using presets in your scenes it's possible there are some unwanted channels mixed in the preset. Or I have even seen customers who have position presets mixed in with positions set manually. If you are using an old scene to build from, the new position you are adding will normally replace the old position in the scene. Sometimes old events in the scene hang around...

The way the scene buffer works is like this; The user clears the buffer by holding the black switch. Events are recorded in order as they happen from the panel, channel changes, preset selections, chase selections, etc. Events can be modified in the buffer, channel changes, presets removed, etc. The buffer can be then saved as a scene. When a scene is later recalled, it is loaded into the buffer and replaces whatever was in the buffer before where it can be added to or modified. Where...
