Platinum Beam 15R Pro

Hi, I have a clients Beam 15R Pro on my workbench and D3 on PCB 0728B seems to be frying, D3 is a surface mount product and can replace it if I had the correct component ID, nothing else seems to be fried, what else should I check, any ideas, other than component failure, what could have caused this part to cook up to smoking point? Should I be replacing the whole board?
