Re: Hazer/Fazer....confusion

studio42 ·
I'm liking what I'm hearing a lot. The biggest issue now is money and other decisions. Personally, outside of the high current draw, I'm really pleased with what I'm hearing. Fogger and hazer in 1 unit. Less to lug. If you're giving me numbers of 8 hours at 50% utilization, well, I doubt that would ever cause me problems. Setting the unit up 15 minutes ahead of time is no problem as I'll be there 3 hours early. The producer's fog machine is 15 minutes of warm-up time, so that seems to be the...

Wow, that's gonna a be WAY over kill for this production. I see where you're coming from though. In this case, your experience is helpful, but I know for a fact there is just no way I can afford this unit, much less power it! The budget on this show is "whatever I can spare", and I've gotten word that I can give up the lighting search. Thanks for the advise though, I'm applying it towards a future purchase as I need stuff like that anyways. 4 IEC's? Crap. That's a lot. Seems like a 30-amp...

Re: Need help? frustrated that it's not working

I agree with LighTech above. This is one of the major problems I have had with Elation. I get something that is defective and they want me to spend more money to get a replacement on time for a show. It is not my fault the product was defective, it is not the reseller's fault it is defective, but in the eyes of Elation and this policy, it makes it look like they aren't at fault at all. Other major companies don't do this. Prime example, a school I worked for ordered a brand new ETC Express...

Low Output Volume on new Prime Hazer

JoeVI ·
Hi I just purchased a new Magmatic Prime Hazer to match the prime hazer we purchased a year ago. I am just now running them together and the NEW hazer has a much lower volume than the old hazer (cleaned with distilled water and white vinegar at end of last season). They are running different software versions as well. This difference in output happens whether in manual mode (both set to 92%) or in DMX mode (5channel) My question is what would account for the lower volume on the new hazer?

Hello, how do you have the unit connected to power? Is it on an extension cord or plugged into a generator, or something like that?

Magma Prime will not power on. Suggestions?

Matt in KY ·
I have a Magma Prime purchased second-hand that will not power on. When plugging it in nothing happens. No fan kicking on, no information on the touchscreen, no light on the power switch, no signs of life whatsoever. I've visually checked all of the standard things: Power cable, PWR switch, 9 AMP breaker pushed in. All seem perfectly fine but don't indicate operation. This Magma Prime honestly looks like a brand new unused unit except for a few trace signs of fluid in the tank and lines. I...

Hello, it seems like perhaps it was plugged into the wrong power source (IE 208V) and fried the PSU of the unit. Look at the PSU and you may find something fried on it.
