Connect Pixel Driver 4000 to Chamsys MQ40

Drake ·
Hi All, I'm going to apologize in advance for my ignorance, as I'm sure what I'm asking about is a fairly rudimentary problem, but I'm having trouble connecting my pixel driver 4000 to my Chamsys MQ 40 light board. Both the board and the driver are connected to the same network switch, but I don't quite know enough IT to be sure what I should do next to be able to control my pixel bars from the Chamsys. If anybody has any tips on how to ensure these two devices are talking to each other, I'd...

Hey @Drake , Your best bet would be try to add something that is Capable of Pinging within the network. You can then Ping each IP address to see if there is communication. Please make sure that the IP address of the Pixel Driver and the Controller are in the same range. If you have a PC, DMX Workshop is a great tool to have.

Siudi Driver not loading to new Windows 10 OS.

funkevolution ·
I use a CompuCue Basic dongle with various lighting programs (I prefer MyDMX 2.0). I spent a grand on a new Windows Surface Pro X to be able to Cue scenes live from a tablet on a mic stand. Tablet is a 64-bit Windows 10. The tablet recognizes the 'unkown device' (dongle) plugged in and any program I try to use (ESA2, MyDMX, Compushow, etc) automatically starts in Demo mode. I've tried reloading the driver and am told it is successfully added but it gives an error to contact the manufacturer...

I think this might be the issue. but we are looking into it and will let you know tomorrow. Keep the receipt for that surface if these programs are the only reason you bought it.

The computer does indicate "64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor" From your reply I presume this won't work for my needs?

Confirmed, the interface you have is not compatible with ARM based systems. You either need a different computer (The other surface laptops are intel or AMD i believe) or we may have a new interface that will be ARM compatible soon or available from the developers own product line.

Platinum Wash ZFX Flickering Issue

Vilkas ·
My client has some Elation Platinum Wash ZFX Pro units in a permanent event space install. I do an annual maintenance sweep for them. Last year a couple of the units started to flicker when they get close to full on (R, G, B, W emitters all at or near full). If you take the edge off and lower some intensities, the problem goes away. I replaced the LED driver boards in both units and the problem went away. Fast forward a year and the same two units are showing the exact same problem. All the...

Greetings, you will need to replace the wiring harness that goes from the base to the led via the arm.. this typically will resolve the issue. (red/blue wires) UPDATED WIRING HARNESS FOR EPW880 (elationlighting.com)

Hi Ela. Thank you for the info! Are you an Elation employee? Is this official advice from Elation or are you just speaking from experience in the field?

greetings, yes i work for elation, we have seen this issue on units with higher hours on them. over time the current demand increases slightly and the existing cable is not quite thick enough. this being said there maybe other issues which may require attention but based on your description this typically resolved the issue.

I am facing same problem, there are 6 elation wash are flickering in my rig only whenever I turn white color or dimmer color on. no flickers in blue , red ,green,.i had parked white color for some lights looks good some times suddenly flickers. i feel it is main PCB issue not the cable . main power cable (red&blue ) seems good because I checked with multimeter they are giving right volts 28.28.

Hi there! Yes. I succeeded changing the cable for the new version. Problem is solved. Did you meter power at the head with all emitters at full? I definitely found that with everything at full juice, there was a slight voltage drop that I thought at the time was negligible, but it turns out it was the cause of the issue. The new wiring harnesses I installed looked and felt identical to the old ones, but definitely solved the problem. My only guess is that the original harnesses must have had...
