hey and welcome to the board. well i can tell this is gonna be a long post for me lol! now i acn answer most of these with ways that have worked for me but we should also see what elation says about the best way ot do some of these things. 1) you can assign a fader to adjust the speed of each individual button u have created by right clicking on the fixture page or if u have it in a master scene the master page scrool down till u see live toolbar button. u will see a size and dimmer andspeed...

Jingles, Thanks for your help. I tried what you said, and here's what I found: 1. I do have my Cycle created under the Master page, so I tried using the Live Toolbar Button. I do see the size, dimmer and speed controls, but only when I have a scene (like Blue) selected. When I click my "Cycle 1" button, the size, dimmer and speed controls disappear and are replaced with the text: "Cycle: Cycle 1". It's like all of those features are being disabled b/c I'm running a cycle instead of a scene...

hey kkiger. u know i was lookin around for the sound active dmx traits on the manuals to the LED lights and i cannot find em. so i am also not sure about getting the sound functions to work within compuware as i just have the demo right now but i will be getting the actual software sometime this week. we might need to wait for someone ele's help on this one. peace. jingles.

jthtiger im sorry but i don't see elation offering a discount on compuware packages unless your buying enough for a school to use. like numerous packages. and i don't see an individual discount for one student. but we will wait for a more offical word from them. but like anthony said man. you want the best you gon have to pay for it. lol. peace! jingles.

i believe in the manual it says if the shutter is closed or off and u have the value of ch. 22 i think to the lamp off function if u wait 3 mins it will shut off. have you tried that? peace! jingles.

Update! I have come up with a hardwired (literally) solution to the issue with fade time deactivation. I'll try to explain as clearly as I can, and apologize ahead of time if I lose anyone along the way. I'm using the Behringer FCB1010 to control the Operator 192 via MIDI. 32 max is pushing it. I generally start having problems with LEDs at 8 fixtures, depending on length of the run and fixtures in question. Dimmers, I daisy chain those things forever and they don't care, and I am talking racks upon racks upon racks. Movers, depends on the brand and length of cable in question. Some days it's 16, others it's 20, sometimes I can only get 6 on before the 7th starts acting up. If your last fixture in line is acting funny, and a terminator isn't helping, chances...

Wait. I knew it was one 20w LED, but a white one? That makes no sense at all. LEDs don't emit the full range of visible light. This is why when you have RGB all on, it is not a true 'white' because they don't cover the range to make white. Color media, be it gel or glass, work by blocking certain parts of the visible light spectrum to make color. Yes I own 8 DLED 36's and I just bought four Elation Design Spot 250's and Compu. I can't get the design spots to show their beams in the 3D viz...although it does show the channels are working in the DMX section of Compu. I will be adding four Tri64B's and five TriBrick DLED's 36. I am starting to program today...Compu just got here today (week late because FedEx couldn't find my house). The laptop also arrived today but the harddrive was broken so I have to wait until Wednesday or Thursday...

I've come across alot of these issues as well. EDIT SCREEN WOULD RANDOMLY MINIMIZE: My work-around - when you open an edit screen quickly move the mouse pointer over that screen. If the pointer is over another window the edit screen gets moved behind it and you have to click the main button then the edit button on the start bar to get it back. Hey Schadow, I am glad to see that I a not the only one! Yeah the cycles thing is weird, if I re-size the buttons come back, but I f I click any opther page, then all I get is grey. I have to then have to edit again , and re-size. Foucs Presets! Can't wait!

According to the engineers, they are waiting on Microsoft to release a key. This key is essential for Compu to work with 64 bit. They are taking there sweet time to do this, and all we can do is wait. But, the system is in place to work with 64 bit already.

Misbeam the official word i got from our developers is all Reported bug fixes (Yes i reported yours) are fixed in the 2009 version due out early next year. I understand your frustrations. And I'm sorry but we just cant turn out updates fast enough for everyone all the time. If you don't want to wait i understand completely. Ok Brian Sorry about the long wait. 1) You cannot copy cycles in the software. it just doesn't allow for that feature at this time. and I don't know if it will be added in the next release or not. And its not a software bug. 2) Try recording a cycle and then instead of having it play at a certain time select the time for "GO" and then use the page up or down buttons to advance in the cycle. I'm not sure how to assign a hot key to the up and down buttons so ill check on that. Sincerely,

are you only using easy stand alone? make sure you save all your work! Download and install both Compu Live and Easy Stand Alone. Forget about drivers. The current downloads have the drivers embedded in software. Then uninstall all current versions of software, compu and easy stand alone. In your C: Drive look for folders SL2006 and Easy Stand Alone and delete them. Next.. this one may be tricky and your on your own here as its a computer thing and not a Compu Live thing. John, I will give this a shot but I'm going to wait until after tomorrow. I have a concert on Friday evening and have things working but.... I will try to clear everything and see what happens. I have only been using Easy Stand Alone because my fixtures were all pars and it was easy to setup and run quickly. I now have some LED's and am working with High End Moving lights and need to get more sophisticated with the programming. Maybe time to get to Compu-live.

Your on the right track. I believe X-310II is what your looking for. The other great features this machine has is it already comes with on board timer and DMX digital module!! this is awesome. It also features a blue LED fluid indicator, as soon as fluid levels are low it starts to blink telling you to add more fluid. Well, I'm in the decision making process but not the buying process. After some discussion you may have read on the ADJ forum, the product support manager said I should choose the Ice-101 for ground fog due to how he described behaviors of the Mr. Kool. Ahhh, makes more sense now, just a shorter arc source lamp. Make the point source smaller, make the light brighter. It would also be interesting to say that this new lamp is more efficient then plasma since they have Luminaire Efficacy Rating great then 90%, while arc lamps are normally around 55%. Since I have no specs on the new lamp, I can't calculate an LER for it, but I am sure it is higher then 55%. Ballasts still kill the efficiency of arc lamps and always will. Plasma likewise keeps...

Just simple process of elimination. If it was me, I'd cut your middleman out of the equation for this round and get directly to Elation's technical support. I haven't had to deal with Elation directly, but my two service issues with ADJ went fairly well. Timing wasn't a problem for me, mainly since I didn't need the bad fog machine replaced or the ibeam section replaced in a hurry. I know ADJ has some priority support options. I bet Elation does too. Ok, wait a minute. The release says that the unit measures 322 FC @ 16'... The DS300 measures 400 FC @ 16' and the DS575 measures 616 FC @ 16'. If the release is correct, the unit is not comparable to a 575 but closer to the 300 watt series. The lumen output of the bulb itself is quite a bit lower than the other discharge lamps in the 250-575 range. Am I missing something?

bob i checked out your show. Thanks for emailing it. I get the same thing on my computer. The total scene time should be around 3.5 secs according to the fade and wait times you entered into the boxes. but when i time it myself i get around 4 seconds. This is weird and could be a bug. But however I remember that some people that have multiple pages with the same fixture in use such as your multiple par can pages it can cause weird issues. This could be the case. Well do you want a buggy software early? Or a stable version ready to go in a month or two? I don't know what to say it is ALL way overdue. I would have to agree that a beam would be interesting. I thought about grabbing some DB 300s for on the deck shooting into the air stuff. Now I think I might wait to see if a Platinum Beam 5R comes out. Keeping all the lamps the same is important to me because it keeps things constant. My boss constantly yells at me for cross renting whole shows when I don't have enough in-house of whatever fixture I need to do the job. He wants me to use in-house and cross rent to supplement. James,Marteen, I apologize, but I couldn't wait any longer. I went ahead and purchased windows 7 for this PC and reinstalled everything again. It fixed the problem. I have the Cue cable up and running. I ordered a new Mac Power Book also so I have both platforms. Thanks again for the help big time! I know this was frustrating. Hope you can figure this one out though so you might be able to help someone with Vista if they have a similar problem in the future. Dave :-)

What a foggin' show. The producer's fogger(non Elation, and an el-cheaper piece of crap) died. Well, maybe. t would be fine, then afte r a while it would give a gigantic blast of fog until either it woudl duty cycle or I power it off. Unreliable, didn't use it. Couldn't use it. My HZ-300 would work using the remote, so chances are it's an issue in regards to DMX inside the unit.
