I am going to run the tri brick in 15 channel mode. I am going to use TriPar in 6 channel mode just like my DLED 36's. Yeah, today was supposed to be the day with the new toys...oh well I am plunking away on a Gateway for the time being.

Re: Design 12 brick profile needed

serraava ·
Hey Amen and welcome to the forums. If you are looking for a Hog 3 profile, it is already in there as LED 12 Brick. For Hog 2, there is no profile. You can set them to 3 channel mode though and just use a Generic CMY Profile instead. Cyan would be red, Magenta would be green, and Yellow would be blue. Hope this helps.

Re: Newbie question

Sorry for the late response on these question guys, I will try to explain DMX addressing now. The best way to describe DMX addressing is that it is like the postal system. First, you pick the address you want to send the letter to. Then the letter goes to the mail center, where it is sorted for delivery. Next, a mailman takes the letter and delivery's it to the address. The first step in setting up DMX system is you patch your console (Pick the address you want to send commands to). Since...

Show Designer 1 Bricked

ProfFilament ·
Hello, This is my first time posting on these forums, so please let me know if there is a better place for me to post about this (I searched and couldn't find any posts about similar issues). I work at a company with several Elation Show Designer 1s. They have been reliable, but we had ordered a new set of them a little while back that seem to have been from a different series of production, despite being the same unit type (Show Designer 1). I say this because our original units had blue...

I've noticed with our Design Brick 70 (both I and II) that in order to get the shutter to open in 8 ch mode I have to roll the attribute up into the strobe section (usually strobe 19-20%) to get it to open. I have just been doing this workaround for about a year, but is there a firmware update that fixes this?

Firmware fail on Magic 260

To whom it may concern, I had an initial problem where I lost all of the built in fixtures for the Magic 260 and I am in a very big hurry to get the problem resolved. I have the Ulink and the Magic 260 software and I was reading a lot to make sure I was doing everything right. After having spent countless hours trying to load the fixture profiles onto the Magic 260, and receiving nothing more than "Load Error," and other numerous notifications of how the profiles wouldn't load on to the...

Need profile for Design LED 36 Tri-Brick

I'm programming a show tomorrow, and I need to patch in some Design LED 36 Tri-Brick fixtures. I would love to use these on the 6 channel mode, but worse case scenario I can patch them in as a generic RGB fixture and make it work. Where do I go about getting a fixture profile for these fixtures for my Hog 1000??? Thanks for any help!!! -A

Can not see my Par64 LEDs sequences in the 3D view

mattjames ·
Ok. So I am having this problem that I can not see my sequences from my Pars after I have set them up in the 3D view. However I can see the lighting and beam if I am using the options in the page. But once I go to create a new scene I can no longer see my Par64 LEDs in the 3D viewer. My Design Brick 12s, XSPOTs, and DesignSpots show a beam but the Pars do not. Is there some option that I am missing here. Thanks! Matt

I'm looking at the "Design LED 36 Tri-Brick" and while browsing the manual, I notice a text that mentions alternative lenses. But I can't find any product info on such lenses???? I was kind of set on the Colorblock from AC but yours is better priced and uses the pre-mixed colors while AC's have individual RGB's. But AC has a much more narrow beam that gives me some more "bite" :-)) So, are there other lenses that I can get and swop out the 38 degrees that come as standard?

thanks to any who can help -- I'm totally new to DMX. I have a stagesetter 24 and need to program by LED 12 brick to do this: White light. Update Church Lighting

dwbrooks ·
I am working on replacing the lighting in our church. Currently we have three bars of 8 500W par 64 (24 total) that light a platform that is roughly 70 x 30 with the lighting set off the platform by about 20 feet. That gives me a light throw of 30 to 60 feet. I have been recommended the DLED 36 tri-brick (2) to replace the center section with a 36WA to provide center wash. What do you think?

Re: Assassins Photos

Chicago is planned to look a lot like this set, except more open and random. I planning on using quite a few movers and LEDs for that show, most likely DS 575 Washes and Spots for stage washes and spots/break ups, and well as Opti 30 RGBs and DLED 36s for lighting the set, and DLED Brick 36s from top and bottom for cyc wash. It actually works out to be cheaper for both me and the client to rent them DLED 36s then cyc lights to light the cyc. It is great because of the color changes and...

Re: Need a ceiling light dimmer, with DMX control option

studio42 ·
Yup, I'd say I'd agree. A used basic DMX controller would be way overkill. Perhaps a box with two modes: DMX and manual, like what you said. Slam it all the way down and you're in DMX mode. No signal from DMX? DO NOTHING. Or a button or rocker switch to switch between manual and DMX mode. I agree that choreagraphy with house lights with the lighting director is not always smooth, but it can be if your switch operator isn't flaking out all the time. But, you're dealing with grade schoolers,...

Re: Update Church Lighting

I think your decision to replace in "stages" is a smart move. One thing I'd warn about is your next set of upgrades. I don't know what your lighting design is so I can't really make recommendations as to which way to go next. I think the idea of replacing one set is smart, in order to raise funds for the next two sets of upgrades. The throw is quite a bit. Are you hitting zones or just doing a general wash in a single static color now? I'm jus not sure if the Brick can throw that far with...

Re: Update Church Lighting

I'm no expert, but looking at that photometrics sheet, it doesn't get out as far as 30-60 feet. With my inexperienced photometrics chart familiarity, I'd say offhand that the DLED 36 Tri-Brick isn't goint to cut it for them very well.

Hmmm... A 500W par 64 at 10 ft is 130fc, the brick at 10 ft is 33fc. Hardly a close comparison. Does anything equal the output of a par can? We cannot afford to invest in something that leaves us darker than we are.

Take a look at the ELED Strip RGBW. So far I haven't found any LEDs that can compare to a par for white light. I tried a Design LED 60 Strip WA and it wasn't as bright as the RGBW strip when it came to white. I have used the 36 tri-brick with great results, but not from that distance. I have two Strip RGBWs mounted up 28' about 35' from the back of the platform. In a cantata, with a dark stage you are in good shape, but if you light the choir with any white light, the color will get washed out.

The brick 70 and 50 are nice units! Not sure if we are still making the 50 though, haven't seen it on the site but i have used them. Also so is the RGBW strip. you have a lot of very nice choices. It's too bad a lot of local resellers don't stock Elation products(even my local resellers don't carry them in inventory, it's all drop shipped). This way, with stock on hand for demonstration purposes, stuff could quickly be swapped in and out and tested. Oh well. It's not really a unique Elation thing, lots of places are that way about a good many brands. I know from my preferred dealer, due to distance, such options are impossible. Since this stuff tends to be expensive, it's too costly...
