Re: SD3 Playbacks containing presets, selected fixtures question
Thanks SDMAN. I just tried using Scenes instead of Presets, but Scenes seem to have a few different problems: Scenes sometimes want to cancel each other when turning them on. (Does anyone know why this is?) This makes it hard to turn on multiple scenes simultaneously. When a scene fades out, it fades its channels down to zero, rather than letting them stay at their "color scene". I thought "HTP" would allow the highest value to control the channel, but apparently it means a controller will...

Re: Show Designer 1 Bricked
To whom it may concern, The display PCB's have changed in time but it's the same operating system. It could be either a bad display or a bad PCB inside. If it's within the 2 year warranty your best bet would be to send it in for warranty repair. You can always send an email to rma@elationlighting.com to set you up with a RMA to send it in. If it's not under warranty anymore and if you have another working unit with the same color display, you can always start by trying to swap out the...

mikey wassup man? long time no see huh? how ya been. ok down to business. i would look at the design led 36 moving heads and a bunch of octo strips. what is ur budget? also look at the ELED blinder and the design panel and also the trackpod 81. jingles! and how i would mount em is put the heads towards the center of the rink and line the outside with either strips or trackpod 81's. my opinion. jingles!

Re: Roller Rink Wash with LED?
the lumen output of the design heads and led blinders is far too little for tryin to light a roller rink. trim height is 22 feet. those fixtures would get washed out instantly by all of the other lighting. But thanks for the try

Re: Roller Rink Wash with LED?
You might want to try Pulsar, or ChromaKinetics - they have some LED fixtures that have a good output. But, at that height, you're pushing a LED product quite far; why are you choosing to use LED?

Re: Roller Rink Wash with LED?
Hi Mikey, I have a customer who did a roller rink using Power Spot 250's and mainly the power wash 250 and cmy zoom 250 to color the floor. These would normally be ok for 20' distances, We actually recomend 250watt fixtures for up to 35' If you wanted to use LED's the DLED 36 delivers the best light output in LED using 36 1w luxeon LED's with reflectors. Re: need help with a show on compuware!
After taking a look at the system, I would say without a dmx input it would not be able to transfer scenes. It appears to be a separate stand alone solution.

The program should not be crashing, we have used the new version for days on end without hiccups, let alone a crash. The latest update is Oct 16, also make sure you are using the suidi5 driver, as it is designed for the newer interfaces. Conflicts in PC's are very common, if your problems persist, send me detailed info about your system and I will look into it. Oct 16 version and new drivers

Re: Roller Rink Wash with LED?
Well...we do offer some LED fixtures now which have enough output to work in this type of environment - even IP 65 Rated - check out our Design Panel 72 - which has lumen output comparable to 250W discarge units in colors. Check it out... http://www.elationlighting.com/product.asp?ProductIDNum...9&cat=LED%20Lighting

Re: Color mixing
Hi Jonathan, I agree, I love the CMY color mixing feature. However this makes a lighting fixture a lot more expensive. Also, its dificult to fit all of these features in a light. So at Elation we are working on incorporating this feature into most of our lights. In the 250 range, if we incorporate CMY in a spot, it will be a bigger light, and be as much as a 575. So if you are already buying a big light, might as well bump up to a 575 fixture. The Elation Design Spot 575e, will be one of the...

Jingles, Unfortunately the scan library editor does not allow you to create multiple RGB channels to use in the color wheel. The profile I have emailed you, while not perfect, is probably the best way to control this fixture (it is an unusual channel configuration).

Re: need to know???
Hey buddy, This is not the simplest fixture to programm. Its the only fixture of its kind with 2 RGB color mixing options. Most controllers are not set up to offer 2 color mixing pallets. What you have to do is patch the channels to the second group of channels. You do this on the page settings window, then go to channels. Here you will see the fixtures, and channel option. Now you have to find the first red of the fixtures and patch it to the second red, using the "channels patched to...

Hi Jingles. When you modify a fixture in the scan library, you can mess with the unit, if you want it to project like a wash or simply be a color changing object. Its up to you how you are using it at the show.

Yes, we do have a new theatrical DS250 color wheel. The part number is DS250CW2. To determine what the best way to replace it on your specific fixture and to order the part, please give a call to Elation Service at 866.245.6726. Very soon, we plan to have 2 different fixture models for the change in color wheel.

Hi Toby, I think your question was more in lines of a color wheel with replaceable colors. This was suppose to happen to the Design Spot 250. However as it stands this feature will not be available with the current Design Spot 250. We have talks of a Design Spot 250LX which may be available by LDI in November. Best regards, John Lopez

Re: led moving head idea
Hey Jingles.. What's new?? Color mixing is interesting. When you have RGB. This is considered addative color mixing. What this means is, if you have Red at 100%, Green at 100% and Blue at 100% you get white. CMY is subtractive color mixing.. If you do all the colors at 100% this will give you black, or the colors go away. CMY is only useful if you have a white source to back it up, like in a moving head, the source is comming from the lamp.

Re: White Balance issues
Discharge lamps will always operate at a higher color temp then halogens. You need to use the color correction filter on the color wheel (if the fixture has one) and warm up the color temp to 3250k-3050k to match your S4's. What elation fixture are you using.... we don't have a product just named Color Wash. Thanks!

When I click my "Cycle 1" button, the size, dimmer and speed controls disappear and are replaced with the text: "Cycle: Cycle 1". Re: Design Spot 250 Fade Issues
Ahhh! Ok.. Your starting from INIT. This makes sense as with INIT all values of the moving light are off. So when you fade on, every function is fading. In programming you need to get used to creating set up scenes. A set up scene is the scene you want to be active before your actual scene comes on. This is what I was talking about when I suggested to create the scene you want, and bring down all the dimmers. Record that as the scene. Position, color, gobo, but dimmer off. then simply turn...

Re: Compu: RGBMix colorwheels disappearing!!
Hi Level, I'm not sure what you mean by RGB color wheels? As color wheel and RGB color mixing are two different color options. For the Color wheel you have a group of color buttons. For RGB color mixing you have a color pick pallet for color picking. where you can click on the exact color you want. If this is what your refering to then you must be pressing the button rearangement icons at the top of the page. You must be in compression mode for the color pick pallet to show. Here is a small ...

Re: Vision scan 250
Hi Mike, On the Vision Scan 250 we use a Slot lock system. Just pull out the slot and pop out the gobo to replace. Our Gobos are 26.9mm OD x 23mm viewing image. So if the Qspot does not use that size then it wont fit.

Re: Audio
Hey kkriger, the software should have audio control on some of the pallets when you make new pages, like for instance, on the color pallet it has the choice of choosing colors manually and then it has color scroller from left to right, then it should have a fuction for audio control.

Re: RSER message
Hi Evolution. RSER This message informs you that one of the fixture function wasn’t able to do its reset correct (magnetic sensor, stepping motor, driver on the PCB, cables, etc.). Repair the defect and start the fixture again. When a fixture starts up, it goes through a calibration process to make sure all system are good. It tests every motor to make sure it works. So the light has a color wheel motor, gobo wheel motor, shutter/dimmer motor, pan motor, tilt motor etc. etc. One of these...

Easy stand alone will probably be easier to get started on. its pretty simple. Best regards,
