Re: Roller Rink Wash with LED?
Well...we do offer some LED fixtures now which have enough output to work in this type of environment - even IP 65 Rated - check out our Design Panel 72 - which has lumen output comparable to 250W discarge units in colors. Check it out... http://www.elationlighting.com/product.asp?ProductIDNum...9&cat=LED%20Lighting

Re: Power Distribution Help
whats up justin. the dimmer and power distro racks we use are from leprecon. what they have done is combine both into one. we have a connector for - 3hots, 2 neutrals, and a ground. and on the front panel there is a breaker for each hot, XYZ, most of the time we run in three phase but when we get to a venue with single phase we only use the XY breakers (two hots) and there is a forth breaker that combine XY to make Z. It makes it very convenient to take the same racks everywhere and not...

Thanks for the info. I am looking to add some wash fixtures to my new stage. I have truss with 6 Elation DLED 36's uplighting an Austrian sewn backdrop, I have added 6 of the new TriBrick LED's as eye candy on the rear truss. Now I just need to get rid of my Source 4's with color changers. I am keeping to S4's to light the singers up front but would like to add 2 to 3 LED wash fixtures on each tree to wash the band (9 piece band). I've been recommended everything. Re: Compu Live Question
So the house dimmer is tied into the same line as the rest of the lights, and you have both the x-fade and compu controlling them with an a/b switch? You are saying all the lights work ok when controlling with compu, but when you switch it to the x-fade the leds go nuts? If so, they are probably losing dmx since the x-fade is only 6 channels. The only option you have is to set the leds so that when they lose dmx they do not go to auto mode. Finally, you can also add a wall panel from the...

Re: Compu Live Question
I understand what his problem was and I understand what you are saying. Yes, he did buy the incorrect wall controller for the job, but I seriously doubt he wants to drop another $500 dollars and be stuck with the x-fade still. That is why I recommend he build his own switch panel to work with the Easy Stand Alone box. Like I said it cost under $50, and can be put together in about an hour and works great!

Re: Compu Live Question
Ok, I found what I believe John is talking about. http://www.nicolaudie.com/main.php?id_page=28 It is the same list price that he stated. It does look nice but its still overkill from what I am talking about. It is a self contained wall mount DMX controller much like the AR-32. It can be programmed with the Easy Stand Alone software, and act as a dmx usb dongle for Sunlite/Compu. So basically it is like an Easy Stand Alone box in a fancy touch panel for the wall. I dont think you guys...

Re: Battery powered LED fixtures?
Elation actually makes a battery powered LED fixture called the Event Panel . Should be exactly what you are looking for. With regards as to how to make your own battery powered LEDs, it is something that shouldn't be discussed on open forum since someone can be seriously hurt or even worse, killed. If your not sure how to do it, don't do it. Not worth playing with your and others lives and well being. Even if you get an electrician to wire it, it still won't be UL, ETL, and/or CE approved.

Re: Newbie Question
Hi again and thanks for the response. I will propose to use the "ELAR-DRIVER-8" for the project, but I have another question about the programming and control. I read that "ELAR-DRIVER-8" has compatibility with DMX 512. With this "ELAR-DRIVER-8", do I need to buy a DMX Operator or some Control Panel to do the programming and the change of color? or I have to use some kind of software to program this device and put on "Stand Alone Mode"? I will be waiting for your quick answer, thanks a lot...

Re: Can't Get Light 2 to work! (DMX Operator Pro)
Hi CJ, Here's what I recommend. Set the second panel exactly as the first panel. Address and all. They should do the exact same thing when you use the DMX operator pro. This is your starting point. When and if they do the same thing or not, then it sounds like anything would be an issue with your light. You should contact the manufacturer of the light which is Chuavet as this forum is only to support the Elation products. Once you get the Chauvet lights figured out and you have questions on...

Re: DP-DMX20L dimmer ... is it 20A or 15A max?
20-amp only? That must be reserved for some specific bit of hardware, best I could guess. That would make more sense in a hospital. I've never seen a 20-amp only outlet, always the typical 15/20 that has the T on the neutral for "compatibility". One thing I do these days with new venues is I have one of those pen-type devices that can detect a live circuit. If I have a live circuit, next thing I do is meter it and document that on a per outlet basis. I've only run into 1 problem: an outlet...

Re: triger troubles
Hmm, so I was right about the caps lock thing. Must be some Linux guys doing the programming, or at least using the Unix/Linux mindset(which I wish more users would follow). Thing of it this way though, now you've got effectively twice the number of triggers available, one set with the caps ON and one set with the caps OFF. That was a shot in the dark for me but something just trigged the "check the caps lock" suggestion. Since I use Linux for my web hosting platform, I have some familiarity...

Re: LED fixture questions
This is something odd, but I'll post it anways. I recently acquired 4 ADJ Mega Bar 50's, and 4 Mega Panels. The Mega Bars still provide a somewhat "round" beam, at least in distance. Close up they definately wash wide. I had a bit of a time focusing these at a recent event. The Mega Panels, despite being rectangular, do provide a relatively round "beam". Yes, I know these are wash fixtures, but when you end up with a soft circle on the surface, it's rather strange to me. I know, the LED's...

you don;t need to make new groups. The mega bar pro is already grouped for you. Do you see the numbers 1-9 underneath panel 01? If you click on any of those 9 that is the section you can control. you can even group a bunch of sections together to respond to the same dmx commands. Make sense? If you want me too I will post a screen video. Let me know. Sincerely,

Re: Want Simple On and Off for lights, How do I do it with my DMX Operator
Well, you CAN do this, but you've got to create scenes that cover every possible scenario you'd want, and then have a chart documenting what's on for which scene. But on the go, that might be too much to deal with, as its too easy to overlook something. I'd say MyDMX by American DJ might be an option with or without a MIDI controller. It's a PC based software solution. While you can also make scenes you can name, you can also override the scenes using HTP or LTP to determine priorities. It's...

I had to figure out how to orient them so that what I saw with MyDMX(now Compu show) would match what the lights are doing. Re: Does DMX 512 applicable for LED Screens based on RGB Pixels
One example going off of what Jeff said, ADJ has some LED panels. The Flash panels are DMX ran and have 16 "pixels" per panel. So each panel takes 48 dmx channels. You can run about 10 panels in one DMX universe. Take a look at the You Tube video on the product page: http://www.americandj.com/Prod...nId=2&Category=L.E.D . They are very low res and it would require many many panels and DMX universes to get a decent resolution out of them for even basic graphics. But the point of all this...

Re: Compu Show Taking control over Stic as well?
since the stick and the compu cue are made by the same developer some functions can be controlled through the same software. not all but some. we usually recommend that you do not run multiple software on the same computer as this can cause problems. this might be one of them. the only solution would be to unplug one when using your software. if you are using compu show unplug the stick. if using the ART1024 software, unplug the stick panel from the computer.

The stage lighting is ran through a Lightronics RD-82 dimmer pack. The house lighting is controlled by a Lightronics 400 cp Architectural lighting panel. Are the addresses for the lights set by these?
Reply
Re: Show Designer 2
I looked at the Lightronics page and I see the RD82 is an 8 channel dimmer and the CP400 is just a jack panel. The jack is probably connected to a dimmer pack somewhere. When you find out how the dimmers are set up, we can program the controller to match. Hope this helps.

Re: Show Designer 2
Ok, then I have got to do some wire tracing and see where the dimmer is for the house lights. It is not anywhere that I would have expected to see it, so that probably means it is hidden behind some wall or panel somewhere.

Re: Show Designer 2
You can try taking your sd2 over to that jack panel, plug in, and try out every dmx channel till you find what works. It might just be the first couple of channels. There should be a power switch somewhere that turns on the system. I would think they would have put all the dimmer racks in the same place.
