Re: Audio

I have another question. We have CMY Zoom 250. I can get to it with the software but when I try to zoom with it, I get nothing. I also have a button for Special called 'auto music'. It also does nothing. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Audio

When you click the zoom function, do you click the fader and slide it or do you click the pallet then slide the fader? the proper way to do it is click the pallet then slide the fader. If none works maybe you need to go to the fixture and put it on a test mode and make sure that the zoom works that may be the problem, if it does work, then it is in the program, and you may need to edit if it is the program or re install it. As for the special (auto-music) it could be in the editing you may...

Kkiger, So the DLED 36 have a mic for stand alone mode. When you don't use a DMX controller it has microphone mode. But when you plug it in to a controller.. microphone mode goes away. The CMY zoom had music trigger as well. But when you select this option you need to crank up the music. These functions are found in the light not the software.

Re: CYM 250 Zoom Macro

Jingles8302 ·
the preprogrammed macros are like mini programs built in to the DMX values of the fixture i don't believe there is a way to overwrite these as it is part of the programming on a chip in the fixture but you can simply not use them. also you never know u may end up liking all of the macros or most of them. trust me the CMY zoom is very cabable of doing lots of cool things! peace! jingles.

Re: Design Spot 575 VS. Power Spot 575

serraava ·
Power Spot 575 vs Design Spot 575. It really depends on what features you need. CMY, frost, zoom, animation wheel, iris, and dual rotating gobo wheels can be very useful and powerful tools. The question is do you need them? That is something you have to weigh out for yourself. Power Spots also don't come in a white form, only the DS line does. I can say from my stand point, I use iris a lot do to the nature of shows I do. So every mover I own has to have one. I can also say that the PS 575IE...

Serra.. I have to say you know your stuff! So i'll just say the same thing Serra said with a different twist. IRIS is an incredible feature with Iris pulse and being able to pinpoint objects. So the Power Spot 575IE gives you that option. -Now- The Power Spot 575ie literally weighs 42 lbs. This fixture is so light to hang you want to hug it. This is because it has a multi voltage electronic transformer, so you can plug it in 220V or 110V and it auto senses the voltage. If you ever run 220V...

Re: Design Spot 575 VS. Power Spot 575

serraava ·
Lol, thanks John. I will touch on the zoom a little bit because it is my favorite feature after CMY. The reasoning is instead of using an iris to make things smaller, you can use the zoom while not losing intensity vs the iris. The zoom on the DS 575 also let's you flood the stage. This, combined with the frost filter allows you to almost make washes with them. Depending on the angle, you can actually pass this off as a wash, namely in side, high side light situations. Truly a great tool.

Re: design 108

I get what your saying. The problem I am running into now is if I should just go with a S4 par for the front wash lighting. If I do this I still need an LED light to add color when the S4's are off...this looks great when the singers aren't singing...you don't want them lit with a bright wash but you don't want them in the dark either. I wanted to find one fixture per side that would give me color and a good white wash. I bought the DLED 36WA but it doesn't give me a very good white. I...

I have played with the color temp using the parameters that you described. It just doesn't seem to work as well as an S4 with a "flesh" tone gel. I thought the ambers might get me there, but I have no real world experience with them. Have you ever worked with a CMY Zoom 250? Do you think this would be brighter the the DLED 108IP?

1. if the check box is grayed out its because you need to see individual channels. you will see a + symbol near fixture name. click it and it expands all channels. The important channels for moving heads that need the FADE option checked are pan tilt dimming focus Iris and zoom. LED's need Red Green and Blue and dimming checked. 2. when I say more than one page, I refer to having multiple DESIGN SPOT 250 pages or DLED 36 pages with the same DMX address. Re: Multiple Shutters

serraava ·
You can grab some barn doors for the LED fixtures if you get something like Opti RGBs or Opti Tri Pars. Beam shapers will give some of that control, but not like shutters or barn doors will. Maybe a dealer in your area or someone who has some fixtures can demo say a DW250 or any light with a beam shaper for you to show you what exactly the beam shaper does. It might give you the control you need. Can't hurt to look. Cheapest fixture with shutters would be a Revolution. Personally however, I...

Hey Chris, you should also probably check out the Opti RGB and the Opti Tri 30 . Both are cheaper then the ELED RGB Zoom, but have less power output. The Opti RGB 24x1w and comes with a 25 degree beam to start, optional 45 degree lens available. The Opti 30 Tri comes with 21w total of tri-LED. It is a much smaller foot print then the Opti RGB. It comes with a 10 degree beam to start and optional 25 degree lens. Both have all the functions you are looking for in a fixture.

Those are ETC Source Four ParNels. Great fixtures, work like a Fresnel but are in a Par frame. Zoom range is 25-45 degrees. They also put out more light then a 1000w 6" Fresnel does with a 750w lamp, coming closer to a 2k 8". The beam isn't as soft and even as a Fresnel however. It also has less intensity do to the refractor then an 'equally' lensed S4 Par would. But since it puts out a circle and has a zoom, much easier to work with then Pars a lot of times. I still, however, use Pars for...

Well, then I guess it comes down to, for my comparison purposes: What does the 64 LED Pro compare to as far as output. I think once I know that, I think that may ultimately make my decision. The director says she was pleased with the lighting I provided, so now the issue seems to be SOME color choices were too dark. So, maybe I don't need to get something better. But since I need to place 4 other fixtures for sure(because I hate them), and want to replace 2 others(to reduce power draw). I...

Hi John. Yes and no. Things are progressing rather well in regards to this topic. Serra Ava's advise has been pretty good. I'm also working with the dealer I now exclusively buy all my lighting from. Now that I have pricing for both the ELED RGB ZOOM vs. the Opti Tri Par(which were the two leading choices), the Opti Tri Par appears to be what I will be going with. Due to budgetting issues, the purchase has to be postponed until end of March at the earliest. This will give 2 months before a...

Re: Platinum Spot Videos?

As soon as I get them, you can believe I will post pictures of them and pit them vs my DS 575s. Optics, colors, and intensity are what I am most interested in. Bang for the buck, low power consumption, and size/weight of the fixture are next on the list. Going from 64 lb fixtures to 28 lb that performs similar will be a great help. I can live without CMY, but zoom would be nice. CMY would be the next feature I would want followed by another rotating and animation wheel. Then its a DS 575...

"ding ding ding" we have a winner Wow thats all i can say...elation can do soo much with this fixture..ive already got my order in for 24 of them. yes having CMY and zoom would make this thee best fixture to have and use....even compared to the big boys, martin, clay, high end and so on. I'd like to see them make this into a dedicated wash and beam fixture... maybe not soo much the wash but having a beam fixture...as such as the ADJ version.

Re: Channel Assignment Q - Newbie

You have to use the assignments mentioned in the DMX Operator manual. When you do that faders 12 - 16 won't do anything (because your fixture only uses 11 of the sixteen available per fixture), but that is OK. Each fixture button will control each CMY Zoom the same.

Hey scrogers and welcome to the forums. I have a bunch of Opti Tri's myself that I use for theatre stuff all the time. Biggest reason I like the Tri stuff is no color shadows. I get a shadow of whatever color I am mixing vs 3 different shadows with standard LED stuff. Looks a lot more realistic for theatre. Other advantages include the obvious, no more gels, 16.7 million colors (4.3 billion with the Quads), no more lamps, a lot less heat on stage, low power, etc. Brightness wise, they will...

One of my videos is actually a comparison of a Platinum Spot 5r pro vs. an Elation 575e. Other than the fact that the 5rs have small gobos and no animation wheel, they are the clear winner in other comparisons like brightness and the zoom feature just to name a few. It might help some of you make a decision...

The alignment is correct. I cross checked with two other units. I booted the unit with the dim output and went through each setting in manual mode. Seems like the zoom and focus are both out of alignment on boot. When gobo wheel number one is used the output also dims significantly, almost like placing a stack of several diffusers in front the of head. I tried a full reset and inspected as well as I could for loose parts. My guess is that something is in bad alignment. -Daniel

Re: Using an Arena Q7 with an architectural control

Hi David, There are 2 software versions with Arena Par Q7 V.1 and V.2 Please check which version you have. V.1 has the shutter you are referring to on 7ch mode. However the new V.2 has a 5ch mode. With the 5 ch mode it removes the dimmer and shutter so that as you need that won't happen. However if you can imaging using the archi controller your zoom will be zooming wide to narrow with intensities.

I am just going to copy in here the discussion I've had on a Facebook group of CompuShow users... CompuShow issues abound! 1) Compushow repeatedly "forgets" the MidiCon button assignments (all of them). Mid-run, or on an app restart. 2) Comupshow is continually 'repatching' fixture placments in the 3-D workspace. I lose instantly over 20+ mins of fixture arrangements in one dialogue box. What am I doing wrong? I'd think if I saved as I go, it'd stay as I wanted. Common issues? Common fixes?
