Re: SD3 Playbacks containing presets, selected fixtures question
Here's a possible explanation: I noticed my fixtures' DMX channels are assigned to multiple fixtures, at least one of which is a single "32 channel DMX" fixture, which therefore contains all my 4 fixtures (7 channels each, channels 1~28). I don't know why they did that, versus setting up correct separate 7-channel profiles, but perhaps that would explain why the Scene recalls seem to be interfering with each other!? Maybe I should erase the whole console and start over? Still trying to get...

Re: Scene to Scene Transition
Hi Christian, This is simple, the option will be in the controller rather than in the light you are using. You are looking for "fade time" You can set the fade time to be 7 seconds, and there you will have the 7 seconds you are looking for.

Re: Compu Live Questions
Hi John, Thank you for your responses as well. 1. I tried what you said and made my chase a Scene using Easy Step. After that I was able to control the speed via the Live Button Toolbar. So, in other words, I did not need to do anything further using Easy Time. I tried it any way (yellow button making the channels Easy Time), but it just seemed to mess up my chase, so I went back to making all channels Easy Step. I notice that the F7 and F8 keys allow me to adjust the speed up and down. Is...

Re: Compu Live Questions
Brian, I am really impressed on how you picked everything up. So to move forward, you can achieve the tempo your looking for by activating the Audio function in Compu Live. Step 1. In the "controller" drop down menu look for "Starting parameters". Then in the Options box, choose "Audio/Midi" and in this new window, click on the check box with the speaker icon. Then close all windows. You will be prompted to restart, and the Audio Analizer box will open automaticly. Minimize this for a...

I have took another look at a unit and in stand alone mode program 1- 7 have this neurotic strobing thing going on. This renders them almost useless in stand alone mode except program 8 unless your gig requires a neurotic theme I will ad a controller and look at the programs that way also

Re: Design 36 LED
switch 7 and 11 on for stand alone mode. 1+7 on = program 1 2+7 on = program 2... All of the programs except #8 (seitch 1+3+7+11) have a strobe part that makes the program look bad. If this is intended then it seems like a mistake.

Re: Design 36 LED
PU about ur previos question i believe all DLED36's have 7 channel capabilities. u just have to address them in 7 channel mode. now are you running all 20 of these with no DMX controler or are you using a dmx controler if so which one. try adressing them in 7 channel each and see if u have the master dimmer function on ch. 7. peace! jingles.

Re: Design 36 LED
guys im tellin ya. you can put them in 7-channel mode. i know i did it on compuware on the WFX booth this past month in atlanta. u have to allow 7 channels per unit to the next. try it and get back to me. channel 7 is a master dimmer. ok? peace! jingles.

Re: Design 36 LED
That just explains channel issues, not the strobing with internal programs and stand alone. The revision of the manual is from 12/06, and the 7 channel list is from 5/07, so the manual has yet to be updated for 7 channels or 6 channel lights are still being made/sold. What I stated is merely what was in black and white in front of me and what was sent with the product. It is also quite possible that PU lighting has an older, 6 channel version of the light and not the 7 channel. I know that...

Re: Octopod 80 with Magic 260 profile?
thanks for your reply, so far I can control all 8 pods on one "fixture" second group on 2nd "fixture". is there any way to assign one pod to one fixture? the magic has 24 fixture buttons so theoretically could it be programmed channel 1-6 as fixture 1; 7-12 as fixture 2, etc? it seems pretty logical. According to dmx language or does the pixel drive override this? in 48 channel mode it allows for this, 6 ch per pod. Anyone else with experience or info?

I guess that is what i was waiting for it is a shame that 7 of the 8 programs are bad and that is that. I will be ordering the next twenty units sometime this week only i will be going with the Colorado1 from chauvet. I have ten of this units and the feature sets and service are way better and the price is $100+ better then the design 36. I am also starting to have problems with my design 60 units and will be shoping for another brand to complete my need for 15 more units.

Re: Stage Pak 1 how to set up?
Oh man I can't tell you how much I laughed at that! Ok anyways, DMX, it really is a cool thing. Here are some basics. DMX stands for D igital M ultiple X . It is a way for each and every (DMX Compatible ) light, made by any manufacturer, to interact with an universal DMX controller. In a standard DMX protocol (called 512-DMX protocol) there are a total of 512 "channels" In order to get your lights to interact with the controller, you must address them. There are 2 ways (that I know of) that...

Thx for the info. I have the compu club blue unit so I guess I am out of luck on this feature, WILL THE DEC 2007 VERSION FUNCTION ON MY COMPU CLUB BLUE I/0? the Oct 2006 version worked fine with it. also it seems like a bad decision to restrick recording unless your dongle is connected when you allow us to create without the dongle thus I don't bring it home which is where I do my configs, again I create files at home for client/venue and the interface stays at the venue.

Re: trackpod84
i copied this straight from the website so i am wondering why you cant map?????????????? Why we are at it I also noticed that the 7 attribute traits sheet is still on the Design 36 page? Full video pixel mapping control. LEDs are arranged in ten modules of 84, each of which can be divided into four individual sections. This provides a total of 40 pixels capable of running graphics or matrix when multiple units are used together.

Re: black lights
I apologize in advance for the very long and off topic post I am about to post. SCR dimmers work by chopping the sine wave of AC. This is how they 'dim'. AC is a wave. DC is a line. Now when power is created, is is created by a magnet spinning in a coil at 60 times per second, thus 60hz AC. This is how and why the wave is created. The little sine wave above, the start as 0 degrees, the first peak point as 90 degrees, the next mid point as 180 degrees, and the bottom peak point is 270 degrees...

Re: Scene Setter 48 issues, less than 1 year
Oh No, We have had this controller for over 10 years (i think. . .at least 7). The problem is that when you push some of the faders up to 100% it skips down to 30% and flashes around. It is kinda hard to explain. You push it up and it hits 100 then jumps back and forth between 30 and 100. Does that make sense? We just need another one. About the 192 not being satisfactory, you would have fast control over lots of faders. All you would do is it one button, and then change the faders. There...

If you look at the showdesigner you have a picture of the pin with a half circle around it.. then a +2 on one side and a -1 on the other.. or something like that. Check out the Robo scan manual and make them match. I think since the Robo scan is old, they only put current fixtures on the SD1. You can use the modify fixture option to recreate a 7 chn. fixture and name it ROBO SCAN. Bset regards,

32 max is pushing it. I generally start having problems with LEDs at 8 fixtures, depending on length of the run and fixtures in question. Some days it's 16, others it's 20, sometimes I can only get 6 on before the 7th starts acting up. If your last fixture in line is acting funny, and a terminator isn't helping, chances...

I think I've got it figured out now. I believe that Fade drops all active channels to 0 (EDIT: for black that is; Fade transitions to the next channel values otherwise). Unfortunately I just picked up some Chauvet Colorstrips and their RGB mixing requires channel 1 to be at 210-219 and then mixes RGB values on channels 2-4. EDIT: So, from black it has to fade through programs on channel 1 (I haven't tested, but I believe having black w/ channel 1 @ 210 might be ok for in between steps, still...

I did some experimenting and the only time I got the fade time to work is when I was repositioning lights from point A to point B. In this scenario I could use the fade to say do it in...

Rick, What channel is the DP-415 address to? If using sliders 5-8 then it should be set to dip switch 1 and 3 on. Also on the Scene Setter 24 you can change the output channel for each slider. Have any of the sliders been changed to control different channels? If so, you can reset them by holding the record button and tapping flash button 7 three times, while in record mode.

You should have no problem transferring to the new console and not have to rewire and readdress your fixtures. The extra universes are in case you need them, meaning more then 512 channels of lighting, or can make your life easier at times. For example, if you have lights at one side of the room and lights on the total opposite, instead of looping them all together, run one DMX line to one side and another to the opposite side to save on cable and stop possible issues that may arise. As for...

Well, Correct me if I am wrong but that board is mainly for intels. you don't need to setup a fixture profile for dimmer packs they simply dimmer (0-255) the dip switch need to be setup for channel for ex if you want dimmer pack one to be channels 1-4 set it as ch 1. if you want dimmer pack 2 to be 5-8 set it as 5. also there is probably a way to make it run on 1ch 2ch or 3ch. if you want ch1-4 turn all dip switch to off. Also note this is not a DMX dimmer pack. it is an NSI Miroplex one...
