Re: Need help w/ DMX Operator

elationpro ·
Hi DJ, Yes it could be bad. If the DMX driver chips are damaged, then they will still work sound active. Try using your friends board and a light also to see if both your lights and controllers work. If it is DMX drivers, then you will have to send it in for service. No other way around it. Elation makes this device. DMX Branch 4. It is created to supress over voltage to the DMX signal. Once overvoltage goes through the line it takes everything out. However most people don't sell this or...

Hi DJ, Those six lights are a nice set up. Your show will be looking good. What you need to learn is a few things to get going. 1. make sure you assing the right light to your fixture buttons. I'm not sure if the entour is in the memory of the magic so you may need to download the profile from the website and load it into your board using your U-link cable. If you don't have the u-link cable then you should get it. Once the fixtures are assigned the next step is to learn how to create 1...

I guess I'll try to make one. It's still a bit surprising/disappointing that Elation/American DJ doesn't offer such basic support on for new products, but purhapse they didn't intend for the Dynasty scan to be used for this sort of thing... Thanks again for all the help!!

Yes.. I am sure if you contact the service rep who took your order will be more than happy to take the part back. Keep in mind that anything is possible with moving lights.. They are like cars.. sometimes you need to see what's under the hood of your car. In many DJ lights, they say don't open your lights or your void your warranty. Not true with Elation lights. They are made to be opened up and serviced and checked out. This is what makes them run longer than other fixtures. Best regards,

@JPal Congrats on getting you accu spots working. now for the dimmer pack. This particular pack has 3 modes (as you already know) 1 channel, 2 channel, and 4 channel. Here is how they work: 1 Channel This setting allows all the lights plugged into the pack to be turned on/off using one channel. Meaning that if you set your pack to 1 channel mode and the address is at A129, when you turn on that fader all the lights will come on. 2 Channel This setting allows the four channels to be turned on...

Oh man I can't tell you how much I laughed at that! Ok anyways, DMX, it really is a cool thing. Here are some basics. DMX stands for D igital M ultiple X . It is a way for each and every (DMX Compatible ) light, made by any manufacturer, to interact with an universal DMX controller. In a standard DMX protocol (called 512-DMX protocol) there are a total of 512 "channels" In order to get your lights to interact with the controller, you must address them. There are 2 ways (that I know of) that...

Lighting doesn't just light. It helps set the mood and accents the room as well. Movement is also a part of lighting, and with it adds another dimension. I have done a ton of shows which I just have movers slowly moving around the room for glow and effect, other times just changing and shooting gobos on different targets for effect like this: Sorry for photo quality, camera phone. Not at all buddy. they are barely getting these off the ground. Even if a higher power fixture comes out with more features.. it will probably still be on the DJ side of lighting. In my opinion is still Novelty gear.. Because 4 of those would work very well in my living room. and smaller DJ gigs. We have the Impression at the moment. Best regards,

Only other type of fluid I have used in an X-310 is American DJ Fog Fluid, and the stuff is pretty much the same as X-Fog (Same family of companies). X-Fog Pro will hang in the air longer then regular X-Fog will, and X-Fog Ice evaporates even faster then X-Fog. Other then that, I always try to use the fluid from the manufacture just to be on the safe side. Don't feel like replacing heaters and pumps on fog machines costing as much as these machines do. Not saying other brands will or will not work, nor am I saying other brands can and can not cause problems. I am simply stating that paying a couple bucks (if that) extra a gallon for fluid is worth it to me. When (not if, but when) I do have a problem, I can say that I only used that manufacturer's and/or manufacturer's suggested fluid in my machines. Just one less thing the manufacturer can pin on me as something 'You did wrong'. Disclaimer: The above are very general statements, not...

The console is a Road Hog. Great fun, 2 touch screens, 4 universes, 3 USB ports, 40 gig internal hard drive. The LEDs down front are so you can see your paperwork in a dark theatre/work space. You can easily set the intensity of it if need be. I was also just informed I may be doing a huge party with DJ Fat Joe and DJ Jazzy Jeff in January. I will have to make sure I have my camera guy there for that one. Naturally, I will have my Elation toys there .

Re: Compuware 04 problem

elationpro ·
Hi DJ, I know you are new to the forums, however it is proven over and over the the USB interface does not transmit as strong a dmx signal as control board or console because it is powered through USB. It is for this reason that a DMX splitter / booster is highly recommended. A DMX splitter / booster is recommended for all lighting set ups and people don't know it, but for the software I would say its mandatory. It also works as a protection for your interface. Best regards,

Matt, Is this the American DJ SC8 System? If so, it's limited to 15 amps per switch pack. So you'll need to purchase an additional switch pack in order to run two different circuits.

If you go with ADJ your choices open up a bit more at that budget. But with elation we are a bit more expensive but all of our products are totally worth the money and you wont find a similar fixture at that price with the same features. Sincerely,

It does support 64 bit Os. you can look at my dmx here. http://www.americandj.com/Prod...Category=DMXSoftware But if you compare the two side by side compu live is more advanced with better features in my opinion. and i would prefer compu live if i had to choose.
