control laser lights?

I have a couple of Orion lasers the ORLASER 5 unibeam red and the ORLASER 6 green. The only controls on them is sound activation sensitivity.

I play in a live band and I would like to find some way to activate/deacitivate them with some sort of foot control.

I am wondering if some sort of dimmer would work. I know that dimmers won't work with lasers but many of them double as switch packs.

Would this work? I know that some of them work with footswitches.

Another question I have is if it is a different mode altogether that has them work as switch packs as opposed to dimmers? and if so would the chase scenes that are built in to some of these just turn fixtures on and off as opposed to fading from one fixture to another.

If anyone has any experience doing anything like this I would appreciate any advice.
