dimming

i using 4 adj mega pixels im build a switch for them that srarts off with no lights on the starts to get bright and bright by them slf and then go dim slowly by them self can you help me here and tell me how to build this i tryed using the fade in out time by itisnt working right they come on to bright and go off to bright i want a slow fade
