having trouble with switches

Hey Sonic. Try this. Your gonna have to do this for each switch but click on the switch to activate it then go to "Button" then "settings" (these are at the top of the program window they go as follows "controller> button windows language ?") then go to the bottom where it says switch and it is red. Look for a auto release and uncheck it. Here is a picture.

ok i tryed that. but i hit the next switch the 1 switch stays on but the light dosent the secound light comes on but switch 1 and 2 are on. it will let me do it on lights that dont spin with out having to go into setting and changing anything. its the profile you built for me the other day

the switch i want it to work in i built it in the easystep mode with 3 steps each step being a different vaule


here is one other thing that i just tryed if i make a copy of a regular button and then go into edit it the program ask me if i want to link it to easystep function to all the channels of the page if i pick no. i can keep the lights and buttons on but they dont spin. if i pick yes in back to the 1st problem

you need to create the switches using the channel off properties. Here is a video tutorial.

The reason it is turning off the other fixture is because when you made your switch and used easy step you "turned on" all the other channels that you weren't using therefore when you hit that switch it is putting all the other values to where they are programmed in the switch which would be a value of "0". does this make sense?

Your gonna want to turn off the channels not being used by can 1 for the can 1 switch. then your gonna go to can 2 switch and edit it adn turn off the channels not being used by can 2 switch, etc. Did you watch the video? I may be on yahoo later after i take care of some calls.

ok i got that last part like we said.

now i added the speed controler to it and no speed diffence when i move the speed vaule.

it dosent do anything

The speed fader only applies if your using easy time. not easy step.

ok can i just redo all this in easy time ? and have the speed control ?

will every thing work the same ?

I'm not exactly sure how to generate those steps as easy time. Let me check it out.

ok got the video did all of what you said lights come on and roat but speed still dosent do anything

did you do the force speed function to work on all channels? That was in the switch button settings.

i got it i forgot that part HAA i think i was eating popcorn on that part of the movie LOL

ok 1 more thing i have had the program running for a few hours now and about every 30 mins the program adds a new scene button and it keeps numbering them . so now i have 4 blank secene buttons on this page and clues why ?

Weird. which version date of the software are you running? For example sept 29 2009.

Save your work files and your profiles to the desktop, uninstall the program and delete the SL2006 folder reboot PC nad install this version.

will i lose my icons that i made ? for special buttons ? what do u mean by files and profiles ?

What icons did you make? Did you specifically make and add icons to the icon folder in the scan library?
Also when you click on controller and click save the show that creates a .ssh file which is a complete backup of your show. Which includes all your fixtures pages and programming. If i sent you a profile and you reinstalled the software you would need me to resend you the profile because they only get added to the program itself like 2 times a year. Make sense?

im mean this verison works ok i just keep deleting the scenes buttons at the end of the show

No you don't have to re add. Just save them to the desktop save your entire scan library folder to the desktop aswell and then uninstall and then when done installing simply delete the scan library that installs and replace with the one you saved on your desktop. And then place open the software. Go to controller, open an existing show and then point it to where your ssh file is saved. Very easy stuff. Just got to do it once is all. Then it is easier. No problem. It was just a suggestion. If your fine with it and can tolerate thst issue by all means keep your current version.

are you sure this is the newest verizon when i download it . it sayes 2006 ?

Yes the software will say 2006. But as long as the version date that shows up says Sept 29 2009 your fine. From 2006 until now all the different versions are just newer updates to the 2006 software. So in essence yes it is still 2006 software but it is Sept 29 2009. hope that clears up any confusions.
