Inasmuch as I can't find anything on it, I suspect that the asnwer is no, but I've got to ask. Is there any software that will edit the files I transfer to my computer using "Save Memory" in the Magic 260 menu?

It would be a huge help - a great feature- if those files could be edited on your computer and then uploaded back to the Magic 260.

Thanks for the response James.

Almost all keyboards and synthisizers now provide that kind of software with their units because it is so much faster and easier to program on a screen as opposed to punching buttons on a console.

I encourage you to pass this request on to the ADJ product developers. It might be a huge selling point, and may not be too costly given the fact that the Magic 260 already can move files to and from a computer.

I'm programming a Magic 260 for the first time. I'm going to have 10 fixtures (will have 12 soon), some of which have have multiple lights in them (e.g., a KAM Parbar. I'm finding it very time consuming punch all those buttons.

It's especially bad if I want to label any of the scenes. It's an extreme pain that the Magic 260 does not preserve what you've named a scene such that every time you edit a scene you have to go through the tedious process of re-entering the name. [This is strange too becuase you don't have to re-enter all the light settings, but you do have to re-enter the names.]

With software that gives you a spreadsheet into which you enter all the setting for each of the lights along with a label would be a great feature. Here is an example of such a program that Behringer supplies with its FCB1010 midi controller. http://behringer-fcb1010-midi-...ftware.informer.com/

Thanks for considering this.

that link didn't take me anywhere.

programing the Magic 260 can be dificult if you don't have the proper fixture profiles. that's they key to the Magic.
I'm sure the KAM par bar is not in the file.

What you need to do is use the software to generate the proper fixture profiles for the console and load them into your Magic 260.
Once this is done you can get programming a lot faster.

punching buttons to record scenes is actually a lot nicer than having to go through multiple menu options.
Record scene 1 and your done. Record scene 2 and your done again.

In the scene name option. you always have to rename the unamed scene.
that's the way that console works.
i'll see if they can upgrade software to hold last name.
Thanks John,

I've made good profiles for the Parbar and all my other non-ADJ fixtures. Your software eiditor for that is easy to use. (BTW: I've never found a place to find profiles for the Magic 260 other than for ADJ fixtures - and the ADJ site is not complete for ADJ fixtures. If there is such a site, please let me know).

I'll be able to get through all the button punching to make the Magic 260 work. It is a great controller. I, and I suspect a lot of other people, would just much rather do it with a spreadsheet interface. For my keyboards and FCB1010 it a lot faster and easier.

Thank you very much for considering upgrading the Magic 260 so that it remembers the name of the scene being edited. I can't wait for that to be available!
