Software Installation /no communication

I downloaded the elation software (compu pro 2006)from the elation lighting website several times and there seems to be no communication between the software and the device. I have tried connecting the device to a different port and still no communication. The device seems to be working because I have a fast flashing red light, a solid yellow and a slow blinking green.
Can someone tell me what else I can try or do.
The device model is:COMPU 1024EC

what is your computer running? windows 7, vista, xp, or windows 8? also is your computer 32 or 64 bit drivers?
