Re: spot and wash 250
do u have any control over the one that is moving on it's own? is there any type of light that tells u it is recieving a DMX signal? also i just checked and if u have the power spot and washes the spots are 15 channels which would mean the second one should start at A016. and if this is so is it panning and tilting on it own or just one or the other. can u tell me what u have and at what addresses?? i need to know if they are power spots and washes or what. and also if the washes are cmy or not.

You should check to see if they have student pricing with their software. Some companies have educational versions that are fully functional.

Re: Compatibility Issue solved.
Mike, This might be a stupid question but have you addressed the units and the dimmers so that they overlap addresses? Dimmer DMX address 1 along with one of the scans If they overlap they will act like they are carping out when you use an attribute in a moving light. Dimmer unit 1 address =1 Unit 2 address=5 scan 1 address =9 and scan 2 address=15… The magic 260 will allow you to chose what the start address is for each fixture.

Hi Choirboy, 2400Watts is exactly 20 amps. the DP-DMX20L can only handle 15 amps or if you change the power cord to a 12gauge cord, then it can do the full 20 amps. I would recommend the following. CYBER PACK - 20 AMPS 2400WATTS ETL APROVED DP-640B - 40 AMPS 4800 WATTS UL APROVED. Best regards,

I have ten of this units and the feature sets and service are way better and the price is $100+ better then the design 36. I am also starting to have problems with my design 60 units and will be shoping for another brand to complete my need for 15 more units.

Re: Stage Pak 1 how to set up?
on a side note. your spot 250 uses 6 DMX channel and the vue 3 uses 9. 9+6=15 DMX channels total. so you only have room for maybe one or two pars on the stage setter 8. might want to look into a bigger controller. like jthtigers DMX operator 192.

Re: black lights
Continuing on now: The buzzing noise is known as lamp sing, it's caused by the power being turned on and off really fast. The way this is fixed is more expensive dimmers have what is known as a choke after the SCR so the power change is as dramatic as on/off. The better the quality of dimmer, the less lamp sing you will get. Now why non-dim isn't really non-dim. Despite you setting a dimmer to non dim, either via the pack or the console, the power still passes through the SCR and choke. So,...

If I used the compulive sofware would it have a total of 512 dmx channels that I could use? And if so, would this mean that I could run a total of 34 moving...

I think your best bet would probably to go with DLED36s since they come stock with the 39 degree beam angle. You can also get roughly 2 for the price of one DLED108. Have you looked at the Opti RGB with lens kit? This might be an option since it is cheaper then the DLED36s, with the lens kit. Here is another idea, look at the Opti 30 RGB. You should be able to get between 10-15 at that price range. You can use those 10-15 Opti 30s to replace the DLED36s for your back drop wash and move the...

There is a way to do fade/no fade using the Midi controller. You can either do it with the virtual controller on the screen, or have an external one. Unfortunately you cannot use a single button to turn the fade on and off with the virtual board, you will have to use 2 buttons, or one of the faders on the board. You can use one button for On/off using the external board because it will latch when you press the button. To set this up... 1. launch the midi controller on the screen. 2. If you...

You should have no problem transferring to the new console and not have to rewire and readdress your fixtures. The extra universes are in case you need them, meaning more then 512 channels of lighting, or can make your life easier at times. For example, if you have lights at one side of the room and lights on the total opposite, instead of looping them all together, run one DMX line to one side and another to the opposite side to save on cable and stop possible issues that may arise. So you are looking for something very thick like an Octo Strip covering then. Diffusion won't help much. Getting it away from the LEDs more will help eliminate individual LEDs though. As for color shadows: This is 2 DLED 36s 44" away from the wall, 28" apart from each other. The speaker stands are 15" away from the wall and 2" in diameter. The DLED on the left has the stock diffusion filter in it, the one on the right does not. As you can see, without the diffusion, the DLED increases in...

Hi Matt and welcome to the forums. What types of fixtures are you plugging into the controller? You say 4-8, but each of those lights might be 2000w a piece (doubtful). The other thing is it is possible the outlet is a 15 amp outlet and not a 20 amp outlet. According to standard, 20 amp Edison has one on the prongs at a 90 degree angle with regards to the other. See this image for what exactly I am talking about. Almost no one follows this standard, but it is possible, especially in newer...

Have you tried resetting the fixture via the console and/or on the fixture itself? Every once-in-a-while a fixture will do that on me and a reset fixes it. Also, which console are you using? It might be an issue in the profile if it is doing it across more then one fixture. Are you using an old DS250 profile by chance? The old DS250 was at 0% intensity when channel 12 is at DMX value 15 vs 0 for version 1.3 and the DS250 Pro.

Re: Design Wash Led Question
Well, the Designs will blow away the Opti Tri. The LED 60 has 180w of LED behind it and the LED Pro has 324w of LED behind it. The Opti Tri has 54w for comparison. Size wise, the DWLED 60 only has a 15 degree beam vs the 25 degree beam of the DWLED Pro and the Opti Tri. Keep that in mind, because you will need more DWLED 60s to wash a stage then the other two fixtures. Also, the Opti Tri is using tri-color LEDs, so no color shadows. Not sure if this is an issue or not for your application,...

Re: Hazer/Fazer....confusion
I've often been waiting for someone to ask this question and I'm actually surprised no one ever has. where do i start. A Fazer is basically a fog machine. Fog machines need to heat up for 15 minutes this incorporates a heating element that create your fog/haze effect. We don't actually call this machine a hazer. however many other manufacturers consider them Hazer because they provide a continuous amount of Fog/haze without the big blast of smoke. So these are considered heater based hazer...

It also features a blue LED fluid indicator, as soon as fluid levels are low it starts to blink telling you to add more fluid. And to be clear the X-310II is mainly a fog machine producing a haze-type effect. A haze machine runs continous, the minute you turn on a hazer the compressor starts and you...

I'm liking what I'm hearing a lot. The biggest issue now is money and other decisions. Personally, outside of the high current draw, I'm really pleased with what I'm hearing. Fogger and hazer in 1 unit. Less to lug. If you're giving me numbers of 8 hours at 50% utilization, well, I doubt that would ever cause me problems. Setting the unit up 15 minutes ahead of time is no problem as I'll be there 3 hours early. The producer's fog machine is 15 minutes of warm-up time, so that seems to be the...

Now, speaking from experience, the only way you are going to get real low-lying fog is via dry ice. Fog chillers aren't nearly as good. The ICE-101 is a fogger with a chiller. The fog sticks to the ground, but as soon as someone or something moves through it or the wind blows, it turns into fog, meaning it raises up and stops hugging the ground. The...

Re: DP-DMX20L dimmer ... is it 20A or 15A max?
It's rated for 15 amps total. Check your plug. Are the two blades straight? If so, that's a 15-amp connector. Is one blade at a right angle to other? That's 20 amps. Yes, I know, they are both basically the same and chances are the cable itself is rated for 20 amps anyways. Worse case situation is blow a fuze or pop a breaker.

Re: DP-DMX20L dimmer ... is it 20A or 15A max?
I don't doubt you in the least. Furman even makes an AC power conditioning product rated at 20 amps, and they know the problem is so prevalent that they even state that they won't honor the warranty if there are "Field modifications" made. My attitude is that I'm protecting 15 amps worth of gear, so I want the unit rated at 15 amps, mainly so I can pop my breaker instead of the house breaker. If anyone has seen a 20-amp Edison outlet, they'll note it's completely backwards compatble. So it's...

Re: DP-DMX20L dimmer ... is it 20A or 15A max?
Actually, there are 20 amp only Edison outlets out there. Why, I have no idea. They are few and far between but I have seen them. The one that comes to mind is Pfizer's (use to be Wyeth's) Collegeville Campus here in PA. In Campus Commons Dining area, there is one 20 amp outlet and the rest are 15/20 amp right above it. Why it is there, I have no idea. But again, its annoying because I have to drop mult down from upstairs for more power often.

Re: DP-DMX20L dimmer ... is it 20A or 15A max?
20-amp only? That must be reserved for some specific bit of hardware, best I could guess. That would make more sense in a hospital. I've never seen a 20-amp only outlet, always the typical 15/20 that has the T on the neutral for "compatibility". One thing I do these days with new venues is I have one of those pen-type devices that can detect a live circuit. If I have a live circuit, next thing I do is meter it and document that on a per outlet basis. I've only run into 1 problem: an outlet...

Re: ICE-101 and freezer packs
That is a problem with all hazers. They don't fill a space nearly as fast as a fogger can. Generally, I turn my hazers on an hour or two before show depending on how large the space is and how many I have. The show I had my HZ-500 on last week, the stage was 50' wide, 30' deep, and the ceiling went up to about 30'. Wings on each side were about 15' each, so about 72,000 cubic feet. Now that is just stage and doesn't include house space which held 885 seats. So the reason I have the HZ-500 is...

If the fuse won't handle the load, it depends where the fuse is inline, and clearly it's in the inbound portion. I thought it would be elsewhere. Use 4 per "daisy chain" and burn 10 or 11 outlets via power strips and extension cords. Re: new cyberpak, not at full power
OK, an Altman 6X12 draws 750-watts each. 2 fixtures is 1500-watts. Source Four draws 575 watts. The Cyberpak claims 2400-watts total output, but that's conditional on 600-watts per channel maximum draw. There is an output limiter, but that's still not going to address your problem. The problem is you need a higher capacity pack. The Cyberpack isn't going to be the right gear for your situation. The DP-DMX20L is 10 amps/channel, 20-amps total draw. This might be more allong the lines of what...

Now, I have put more then 5.3 amp per channel on the new ones with my reasoning being that the old ones can handle it (why make something that can handle less?), the new ones are UL certified, and they have 15/20 amp outlets on them. You can't put a 20 amp outlet on something that can handle 5.3 amps at the max,...
