you know im not sure if i have heard that they did not include these lenses but if they did they would be inside the head case. you would have to open them up and install them.

Hi PU,
the only way to replace a color is by removing the color wheel.
This can be a lot of work.
The other way is to put a CTO on the gobo wheel.
But then you don't get CTO on the gobo's only open white beam.

regarding the 14 17 and 20 degree beams.
The standard beam for the Design Spot 250 is 14 degrees.
The 20 degree lens is inside the fixture. you need to open the head and you'll see the lens, and you simply need to slide it over.
We opted not to include the 17 degree beam because there was not much of a difference between 17 and 20 degrees.

actually then he only gets a CTO on one of the two gobo wheels. which i kinda figure if ur using color correction you would mainly be using just open spot and not so much for gobos? i could be wrong. my two watts on it. peace. jingles.

Thats true.. i forgot about the 2nd gobo wheel.
But the CTO would be easiest to install in the rotating gobo wheel so he would only be able to use the static gobos.

Thank you for the responce i will look inside the light today. I like the idea of putting the CTO in the gobo wheel i would almose never need to correct the temp when using a gobo.Would i get the CTO from elation or 3rd party?

I found it. So the lense just needs rotated into the beam where it is mounted, and that is it? I think this will help in some of my low trim height jobs. again thank you.

Hi Guys... I'm a year into my design spot 250's, and love them to death...

But I've often wondered if I would gain anything by switching to the 20 degree lenses..

does it make the light less concentrated like the prisim does, or does it just make bigger gobos and such?

I usually either use them from the ground up, or from 10 feet in the air if that helps...

Jesus! Very nice... you gain almost 900 lumen with the 20 degree lens.... I guess I'll be trying that right away.. the lens is inside the head shell, yes?

yep is inside the head case. all you have to do is turn it in place i believe and make sure it is over the iris. sincererely,
