DMX Duo - *.dat file | Elation Lighting Forums

Does anyone have information on the dat files? Are these ASCII based files? We currently have all our equipment in the field and do not have access to a component that can spit out DMX for us to record. The only thing I can think of is to manually create a dat file to upload through the RS232 port.
