In This forum you can discuss tips, tricks, and troubleshooting for Elation's Next Generation Compu Live software, "Compu Show".

OK, so I'm working on my BIG SHOW. I was working on it on the 22nd and it was fine. I saved after I was done with a unique file name to let me know to continue. Same as I've been doing.

Now, here's what's going on, or rather NOT going on:

The video is GONE. I mean, the file still exists. It's there, it's intact, the file is fine. But, I cannot import the file back in again. It just like "removed itself". This makes no sense because when I last opened it(as I do after a save, exit, reload to sanity check), it was fine. Now, 3 days later, it's screwed up.

The bin that contained it is gone too. Make a new bin, no big deal. Problem there? None, went just fine.

So, what happens when I try to actually use the video?

1: I can PLAY the video file.
2: When I try to drag it to the timeline, I get a little "lock" icon.

Making a NEW show is NOT an option.

Going back a few revisions to the "save revision", which is 3 revisions back, ALSO has the same problem. This fail-back file is showing "act 1 all taken care of". I don't want to go further back than that because I can't recall what was needed to do in prior revisions.

Now, if I make a NEW show, I have no issues. Make a new bin, import the video, drag to the timeline.

Other notes: Downloading the August 18th Beta. Running a July 2011 Beta. I am also plugging in my SD interface whenever I am doing any editing to ensure no features are being restricted.

So, I wanted this show done tonight. All I needed to do was tweak like 10 fog cues.

Sounds like a plan. I want to find out what happened, but more importantly, now I want to comment on something.

First, I spent a LOT of time making scenes for this show. Including the new stuff that got crammed in. As a result of Compu Show behaving independently of Easy Show, I was able to find a working Easy Show session and am back to where I was BEFORE the problem showed up and am pretty much done. In fact, I've also done some clean up of another few issues as well. The previous work made my necessary repair work take a LOT less time. So, while on one hand I'm complaining about a problem, what I'm pleased about is for 2 light hours of fixing, it's fixed, other stuff is fixed and the fog cues I wanted to work on are taken care of. I even added a new fixture and incorporated it into the show.

I REALLY LIKE Compu Show!

This means Monday, I can start working on the other show. That's just nothing short of awesome!
