Keyboard won't work

all you can really do is reset it by unplugging it or turning the SD2 off and on

Hey guys ... It's been a few months since and the Keyboard issue is still ongoing! It does work once in a while, however this is rediculous! It's not the keyboard .. It's the Console. With the problems i've had with this console, I don't plan on buying anything Elation related ever again.

Yes, I have tried 2 brand new Keyboards and they all do the same thing. The console sometimes works with the keyboard after the initial start up. But, than after about 15 minutes of recording Scenes and Presets, it stops allowing key strokes. After this happens ... It will not accept the Key strokes for hours, if not days before it works again. Again, the Caps Lock and Num Lock lights, turn on and off .. just can't type nor use the keypad.

how old is this sd? i will look into this and see if we have a solution for you. i will pull a brand new unit from inventory and try it out. if you have further questions feel free to contact me. all my info is bellow.

I bought this SD2 from CCI Solutions Early Last year. This was on back order, so I am presuming it was manufatured just before shipment.

Is your only problem with the keyboard interface or are there other hardware issues with this unit?

Well .. I have had issues with the CF reader as well, but I just had to Reset the whole Board and start from scratch and now it works ok (for Now). When I would adjust a profile on the computer and save it onto the card -> then try loading onto the board .. it would say "CF Drive Not Installed." Also, when it did work ... some random letters and numbers would be scrambled.

The keyboard and CF controller are on the same board. There might be a hardware problem on yours as these controllers are usually very reliable.

Controller was bought on 3/7/12 from CCI Solutions .. Online purchase.

and you have been having issues with this unit since day one? your best bet would be to send it in for service.

I have the same problems in my SD2,
- Keyboard won't work
- CF card won't work "CF Drive not installed"

Please contact Elation service. This sounds like a hardware problem. The keyboard and CF are controlled from the same board in the SD2.
