Stage Setter 24 Midi Problems

I have the stage setter 24 and have been using it for a few years now, but manually only. I recently decided to try out the midi operations on the unit and I am having some trouble.

I use the unit in 1X24 mode and have 10 scenes programmed in the corresponding scene buttons on the board. I am using a USB to midi converter from my computer to the light board, and I can see the board is getting the signal, but I can't get any of my notes to work.

Suggestions?
