It's possible that the memory is full if the scenes are very large. Scenes can use excessive amounts of memory if they contain lots of single channel data. If scenes or chases are able to share data by calling presets, this will save memory. One other possiblility, but less likely, is that the memory is corrupted with some bad data making it appear full.

I believe it is also possible to be storing a lot of buffer memory data.
Show Designer consoles store memory into a buffer. Everytime you begin to write a scene or chase, and you begin moving all the faders and knobs, Show Designer stores this information into the buffer memory. You store this info into every scene.
So every once in a while it is essential to clear the buffer memory.
you do that by holding black for 3 seconds.
