I just bought an Operator-192 to run 8 DMX LED Lights.... All 8 lights are ADJ.... I will be adding 4 more ADJ lights to this and also 8 LED Par's (not ADJ)... 20 lights in all... I know I can only run 12 lights at a time on the Operator-192.... However, right now I want to worry about these 8 lights.... did I purchase the right DMX Controller?.... Can I grow with this one?.... would I be better off with a different DMX board? The manual says that the board has a built-in mic... I don't see one...

I have a show coming up this coming Friday... I can't even get the lights to turn on with the DMX board.... I need some serious help.... I am a mobile DJ and just want to run the lights in sound mode but don't want to have (6) UC3's on my table..... I could get (2) UC3 Wireless controllers (each one works 4 lights).... However, will the wireless remotes conflict with one another?.... Plus these UC3's will not help me down the road when I want to run the 20 lights.... what's the best way to go for now and something I can grow into later?... here's what I currently have....

2) Revo Burst
2) Profile Panels
1) Hyper Gem
1) Revo 4
1) Jelly Dome
1) Galaxian 3D

Though its functions are fairly limited, the Operator 192 will control your lights - provided none of them have to use more than 16 channels (which I haven't looked up, but I doubt).

I'm not sure what problem you are having, but the first thing is to make sure the lights are all connected with DMX cables in a daisy chain from the Operator 192. It is always recommended that you put a terminator at the end of the daisy chain, but you might be able to live without it. If the lights are erratic after you have them set up correctly, adding a terminator is the next thing to try.

Now set the DMX address on your 8 lights to 1, 17, 33, 49, 65, 81, 97 and 113. Now the O192 should control each separately. Look at each light's manual to see which slider does what for each light.
Calling either ADJ or Elation should work (there is a lot of cross-over between the technical staff of the two companies).

I got the 1, 17, 33, 49, 65, 81, 97 and 113 addresses from page 8 of the O192 manual. It shows that it can only control lights when in a mode that uses 16 or fewer channels. Make sure you not only have the right DMX address but that you have it in a DMX mode of 16 channels or less [read the instructions for each light].

Note also that you have only 8 sliders on the O192 and it can control 16 channels. So there is some kind of way to select whether the sliders are sending signals on channels 1-8 or 9-16. All the lights will respond to data on the first few channels, but only those in a DMX mode greater than 8 will respond on channels 9-16 (and would do so randomly).

Make sure you have the O192 broadcasting on the first 8 channels of the address.

Make sure you have the O192 set to broadcast
I am still working on things... one light at a time... I have the Revo Bursts working... sort of... they are running in sound active mode but I can't control them with the board or turn them on or off unless I hit the black-out... and sometimes not even with that!.... they are also not running in sync.... how do I get them to do that?... like in a master/slave mode... do I put them on the same address?.. do I assign one as a master and the other as a slave?

The Manual says, "The Revo Burst is a five Channel DMX Unit." However, the lED on the back can only be set to 4 or 10 channels.... misprint maybe?

I just want to run them in sound active... I see that sound active is available in 4 or 10 channel mode (channel 1 - 240-255)... however, DMX doesn't seem to control them...

Instead of addressing them 1, 17, 33, 49, etc... should I run them according the channels each have.... for example, run the 1st Burst on channel1 and the 2nd Burst on channel 5?.... However, the manual said it was 5 channel but was it a misprint?... Yikes!

I'll go on to the next light and see what I can do with it...
OK, look at page 8 of the Revo Burst manual. Press the Menu button multiple times until it it says ADDR. If it doesn't already say "1" then press the down button until it does; then press enter [You have now set the DMX address to channel 1.]

Press the Menu button again until it says "CHND." Press the Up/Down buttons until it says "4". If 4 is not an option, set it on "10". This way you will at least know what each slider does.

If you want both Revos to do the same thing at the same time, place both of them to DMX channel 1 and the same channel mode.

Unforetunately they will not operate in a master/slave or coordinated way if they are controlled by DMX. That is one of the downsides of using DMX.

Now set the O192 to control the first fixture (i.e., the one set to Ch 1). Look on page 6 of the O192 manual. Push "Fixture" button 1 on the top left of the O192.

Now looking at page 14 of the manual and you will see that pushing slider 1 all the way up (this sends a 255 signal) will put the Revo in sound active mode. Channel 4 (if you are in 4 channel mode) will control the brightness. (Brightness is controlled by Ch 10 in 10 channel mode.

Do the same thing with your next fixture, but fixture 2 has to be set to channel 17 instead of 1.
