I've actually never heard of a single 20W LED that does RGB mixing. I am more curious as to what it really is. That being said if there are such things as 20W LEDS then it would just seem that they would eventually replace conventional bulbs. This would be different than the Impression. Basically take a design spot and replace the bulb with a bright led - less power and no fans! ok he is a question can you use a burned out bulb ? so that way you dont have a light coming on when you want your stobes only ? will the burned out bulb still work as a ghost light ?

I think right now, LED technology is maturing in two ways. First, trying to make LED performance on par with incandescent technologies, and second, making it affordable. Of course affordable is a relative term. Elation is no doubt the pricier brand, but you're getting more for more. I think the answer is that I'm sure Elation and ADJ are working on this. The 64 LED Pros that I have took some learning curve with some trial and error to find out how to best use those. While I like mine a lot,...

Ok, wait a minute. The release says that the unit measures 322 FC @ 16'... The DS300 measures 400 FC @ 16' and the DS575 measures 616 FC @ 16'. If the release is correct, the unit is not comparable to a 575 but closer to the 300 watt series. The lumen output of the bulb itself is quite a bit lower than the other discharge lamps in the 250-575 range. Am I missing something?

I'm in the same boat i'd like to see some info and vids on this, as i've speced out 48 of these and the DS wash 60 for a venue install, would like to use these insted of the ds575 and wash fixtures for reasons being power ratio and weight ratio. also would like to know if by chance elation might be making a wash fixture with the 5R bulb as that kinda made me wonder why they didnt come out with more fixtures than just the one, as ADJ brought out 2.

I did quick research on the fixture models to get my numbers. It's not surprising that Serra Ava informs me that these fixtures come in a variety of wattages. It doesn't surprise me, these are some decent fixtures. I still think you need to ugprade to another dimmer pack. While you're getting 100% draw out of the dimmer pack, you're not delivering 100% to some of your fixtures(probably). If you're drawing more tahn 600-watts/channel, this is definately not the right fixture for you. Not...

Hi Impedious, I hear and understand your situation. your still working on improvements in your facility. For your budget committee i would propose using the Moth theory. All churches want to get more people in the doors. Just as a light bulb attracts moths, so does a well lit church. the better lit up it is, the more people that will be attracted to it. If you want the fans on the Roller Scans to stay on, you need to plug them right into power, but NOT via a Dimmer or switcher pack. Plug those INTO the wall or a power strip or extension cord, then use DMX to control those. Otherwise, well, you're gonna damage it. If you're going to plug your DMX fixtures into a dimmer pack, even if switched(on/off only, no variable voltage), you're going to have to wait for it to go through it's typical initialization cycle before you can use them. Hi!! You know, I have. Just this weekend. I removed the blower and ducting (if you will) that holds some sort of lense, it looks fine. I look through the optics with my eyeball and it looks fine. I shine a light from a flashlight in where the lamp goes and project the 'image' on the wall. I can get it to look OK, but a slight movement of the flashlight makes it look bad (duh). I got to think another bad bulb, but both bulbs project the same exact image (or problem). Hard to believe a blemish...

Using MIDI with Alcorn McBride WinScript
I'm designing a 4D simulation using an Alcorn McBride V16 Pro as the base controller. For the lights, the V16 has MIDI out which I'm sending to an SD2 lighting board. Platinum 5r Beam Hotspot
Hello, I have a Platinum 5r Beam, it has one heck of a hotspot making the light unusable, except for dark colors. Is there a hotspot adjustment like there is for HTI150 bulbs? There's 4 screws that hold the bulb in place but I don't they they are meant to be adjustment screws. OR is it the bulb? Attached is a picture.

Ok, I have what I believe to be a valid profile for my Hog 1000 and the Elation Platinum Spot Pro. I have the fixture on Standard (23) channels, it talks to the light except I can not get the fixture to spit out light......bulb is struck.....when I get way down in the pallets under control I can get it to put out light only when I use the internal macros....I have used every thing in the menus, set at 100%, 50%, 0%...every imaginable combination and can not get output......

I am pricing out lighting for a small theater and am considering the Optopod 80. I've read that the bulb life is rated at 50,000 hours, but I haven't found a place that sells replacement bulbs. Anyone know how much the replacement bulbs cost and where they can be purchased?

Focus Spot 250 Random Blackout
I am using 4 Focus Spot 250's & 10 Martin 812's in my club... and have been for almost 2 years... Recently, 2 of the Focus Spots began randomly "blacking out" during the night. We can tell that the bulb is still fired, and the light is still moving (responding to DMX commands), but we can not get the light out of Blackout mode... Anybody have any ideas ?

Power Spot/Wash 250 BULB
HI, I'm curious to know if there is any other bulb i can use with my Power Spot/Wash 250; something brighter. I purchased 10 Power Spot/Wash 250s not to long ago and i like them but sometimes i dont think there bright enough and hidden with all the par cans. Any ideas?? PSpot 5r Issues
I am having a problem with my PS 5r. It is powering up and the fans come on. But no display or movement on the fixture. The display does come on after holding down the DC switch on the display panel. There is no resistance with the pan and tilt, no bulb, no dmx or on board control. Thanks for any advice, Paul

Lamp not showing
Hello everyone: I am experiencing a problem with one of my power spot 250. I cannot seem to get the lamp to show, even though I have gone into the programming mode and set the lamp to on. At first I thought it might have been the igniter; However after changing that plus installing a new bulb, I still cannot get any light from the fixture. Anyone have any suggestions. By the way, the fixture is working fine and responding to DMX fine. The laser even works.

Opti RGB Blue LEDs not working
Hi all. I'm new here and am trying to learn how to troubleshoot and repair lighting for my church. Currently I have the problem of two of our Opti RGBs having the same problem: all of the blue LEDs do not light up. Since they are all not working, I figure it's a signal problem, not a bulb problem, but I know my DMX is good and the board is good. I use a SmartFade ML. Trouble with Design Spot 250 Pro
I had a problem with one of my Design Spot 250 Pro's the other night. The light initially started running the wrong color. We shut the light down and waited 20 minutes to start it up again. We were thinking that the color wheel might need to be reset. When we rebooted the light, it blew the bulb. We put it a replacement bulb and it blew again. Focus Spot 250 Bulb Issue
I have 4 Focus Spot 250r's. They are all set to fire upon power-up. They have all worked fine for years. Last week, 1 of the 4 didn't light up. The head moved with the DMX control, there was just no light coming from the fixture... I put in a brand new bulb (thinking I blew the old bulb), but still nothing... Elation DMX Operator with Par64 and Moving head
Dear Tech, I need help. I have built the scene for 4 Par64 LED RGB with different color into 8 scene. Plus each scene, I have added the movement for Moving Head LED lights. Par64 were on Fixture 1 to 4 and Moving heads were on Fixtrue 5 and 6. After that I added those scenes to Chase 1. When I RAN the chase 1, with Fader all the way down, the Par64 flashing on-off each color as I expected, but the Moving heads were moving so fast. I turn the fader up and speed down to slow the Moving Heads.

Platinum Spot 5R problem
I recently replaced a bulb and fuse in a fixture that has been down for several months. I have control of the movement of the light and can see that the gobos and other mechanicals are working internally, however, I cannot get the lamp to turn on, either from the control board or via the menu on the fixture. Any suggestions? I am a novice with these lights. The head temperature does not exceed 93 degrees and the fans in "auto" mode do not turn off at all. Your help is appreciated.

Magic 260 vs DMX Operator Pro
New to the forum, my apologies if this is a repeat post. I have 4 Martin MX-1 and 2 Martin MX-4 lights...I also have 6 standard bulb par cans that run on a DMX dimmer pack. Recently purchased the elation software, and have decided I prefer the old school board controller. Based on my lighting package, can't decide between these two boards. Platinum Spot 5r blowing bulbs
Hi everyone, I just replaced the lamp in one of my 5R Spots because my old lamp hit 2000 hours. The new bulb lasted about 30hrs and now has stopped working. The bulbs seem dead simple to take out / put in. Just twist the old one out counter clock wise, then twist the new one in clock wise. Am I doing something wrong? Why did this happen? I'm hesitant to try another bulb since they're so expensive. Thanks,

Platinum 5r smoking / lamp turning on / off
As I was just programming at our church I had 1 of our 4 platinum 5r's suddenly turn off and had a puff of smoke evaporate from it. I checked the inside of the fixture and bulb and everything looks fine. Tried plugging it back in and the bulb struck fine but only stayed on for about 5 minutes...
