I have 4 light boxes.2 8ft boxes, 2 10ft boxes. 4 rows in the 8ft, 5 rows in the 10 ft, then a couple more on either side of the stage.
I would like to control each "box" separately.
2 lights per row, daisy chained from bottom to top, then top to bottom.
I can't for the life of me get them to be separate!! I set the dip switches to be all 1, as I was told the software does the rest...
I am using compu live, and I am able to get all of the lights to do the exact same thing... but I can't get them to do separate things! I want the bottom 2 lights to be the same, then the next 2 up, etc etc...Do I need to set different dip switches for each row? then how do I set the program? When I add a page, do i tell it to program all 42 lights?

not sure who told you to set them all to 1, because this is wrong. The program will not address the lights for you, you need to manualy address the fixtures. So, for example, in the first box say they are all in RGB mode, you would set the first pair to both be "1" then set the next pair to be channel "4" then the next pair to be "7" so on and so forth...then, in Compu, once all of the address are set, you would load the profile for what ever profile light you have and patch how ever many number of "pairs" so, 42 lights would be 21 pairs....you would patch 21 "RGB" fixtures...then, in your programming, you would be able to manually control each pair independent. i attached a link to the DMX dip switch settings to help you get the correct dip switches set.... Best of luck
