Hello

I'm trying to create a fixture in the PC editor.

Is is possible to fill the 'from dmx' and 'to dmx' and don't fill the 'step dmx'?

Sometimes i wanne see what i doing on my magic 260, but i don't want the dmx value to step to a fixed point, for example the strobe channel of a moving head, i want te see that i'm in the dmx-range of the random-strobe, but i still want to move from a fast random-trobe to a slow random-strobe.

Thanx

But not if you fill step dmx, because when the value is between the 'from dmx' and 'to dmx', the dmx value go to the 'step dmx' value. You can't change the value until you scroll out of the from-to dmx range

If you wanne use for example a color scroll or random strobe, you don't want a fixed value, but you want the change it.

The Step DMX is the median value between the range of dmx values for that preset. It is the "default" value. but like I said if you make all these presets if you use the "fine" button it will scroll through each single dmx value on that channel. so if you had a fixture that had a color split function and you turned it on the way to manual adjust the exact split of the color would be to use the fine button and then move the dial for the color wheel. Make sense? Or are we still not understanding your question?
Sincerely,
Hello,

My question is in regard to the Step DMX value for specific functions. Specifically, what would be the best value to set for the following LED moving fixture.

Dimmer/Strobe Channel;
Step 1 Closed From 0 To 7 Step 3
Step 2 100%-0% From 8 To 134 Step 71
Step 3 Strobe From 135 To 239 Step 187
Step 4 Open From 240 To 255 Step 247

The automatic value for step 2 (100%-0% Dimmer) seems wrong, am I right that this value (71) would be midway between 100% dimmer and 0%? Wouldn't settng the value to 5 be more appropriate to start at full brightness and slowly dim? I thought this was correct but trying it resulted in no light output at all. When I returned to the default value, it worked again. I'm starting to think I don't understand this value completely...

Thank you,

Jack
