I'm relatively new to DMX addressing and lighting software and control. I'm working with an audio/visual company and had set a simple light show for an event on a truss including about 6 opti-rgb, 3 different dimmer packs controlling ellipsoidals, and 2 moving head lights (Design Spot 250).
Before the event I had no problems with the lights. With the compulive software running to a DMX wireless transmitter recieving on the light truss sending commands to all the lights. The Design Spot 250's were both doing everything I needed them to till it was show time and possibly it was my boss who changed a setting on me that he can't recall, but here's the problem:
Both Design Spot 250's were doing everything I told them to except open the shutter. I could see the heads move and point where I want, I could see the colors I chose lighting thru the vents and even color wheel's were working but the shutter never opened. I reset everything, powered down and re plugged in everything, and even opened a new show. including individual setting reset's on the design spot itself. I used the handy buttons page and I tried manually adjusting the dmx channels in the dmx universe in the compulive software and it was doing everything I asked it to except open the shutter.
If anyone has help or suggestions please feel free to lend me some words. Weather it's a problem to be fixed with a software update including bug fixes or if it's operator error. Also, anyone suggest a different lighting software than CompuLive software by Elation? (We're using mostely Elation lights anyway)

This may be sort of a moot point, but did you make sure that your dimmer switch was active at 100%? I know on my set up that sometimes even if you have all of your values correct, there is a switch that is the actual lamp control labled "dimmer" I think, and you have to click that to get the light to actually turn on. So even if your intensity is at 100%, if dimmer is not selected, the lights wont light. Hope this helps!
