DMX Activated Sound Active Mode

Hi folks,

Hopefully you can help,

I am setting up an Elation Platnum Spot 5R with a Starville LED Commander 16/2. Eveything is working fine from a DMX point of view according to the settings in the manual.

What I would like to do is have a scene that I can activate to start the sound active mode.

I have the fixture in Basic Mode

At the moment I can activate the internal programs but when I try to activate the sound active mode: CH 15 and push the fader to 100% the moving head tilts striaght up, colour to red and spins the gobo and does nothing else.

I might be mussing something can anybody help?

is this the only fixture you have? or are you running more than one? also is this the only channel you are activating? or do you have pan and tilt activated as well?

This is the only fixture connected to the desk at the time. On channel 201.

I am not 100 sure about Pan and Tilt as I am not at the fixture.

Ahold they be set to 0 for the fixture to engage the sound active mode?

Also is the anything I need to do before trying to activate it via DMX?

ok i tested this out here and found that if you go through the values it will activate the internal programs first. so a way around that is to record a scene or a cue at that value of 255 on channel 15 so it will work. that cue needs to be activated for about 4-5 seconds before it kicks in. in all honesty these lights aren't used for sound active purposes. so the effect might not be to good. but go ahead and try this out and let me know how it goes.
