I would like to control a Magic 260 onstage via a MIDI footpedal. Recommended a certain type of pedal that would work to run lights live? I have one, but I don't think it sends note-on commands. Solutions?

The only way to control a Magic 260 with a Midi Controller is to activate and deactivate scenes and shows. Is this what you are talking about? Also, we don't make any midi foot controllers, so I really don't have any recommendations that I assist you with. I am sorry about that.
Am I correct that the Magic only receives note-on commands? Or does it accept program change midi data also?
Yes, it only receives Midi notes. What Midi Controller do you have?
Rolls MidiBuddy. I think there's a little doo-hicky I can buy that translates Midi Program data to Midi note data, tho.

The Behringer FCB1010 can be programed to send "Notes". You have 10 banks of 10 patches (so 100 scenes are possible) and the unit is cheap (but well built... even though it's a Behringer). I use it with my Operator.
