Recently i have been having some wierdness using the page master dimmer.

Since I bought compu 3 years ago, i have always used the 'live toolbar page' dimmer as a master dimmer for my 8 martin scx600s.

starting during the past couple weeks, when i bring this dimmer down it will make my #1 dimmer act wierd. In the past it would simply lower the intensity of the dimmer channel. It now appears it is lowering the dmx output to the whole fixture as all the attributes are to being brought to zero level(the mirror goes back to a default INIT position, and the color and gobo wheel reset to open, etc) This is only happening to the first scanner on the chain(dmx = 1). All the other scanner are working as they always have.

any ideas?

Not that this has anything to do with the problems described, I just have some basic general advise:

When it comes to computers, especially the Microsoft OS platform, I redo all my computers from the ground up at least once every 3 months on a staggered schedule so I'm never fully down. I find this often helps keep things operating at peak performance and quite often clears up some issues that come up from excessive ongoing patches, hotfixes, service packs and other ugprades.

Also, you admit to the age of your software. It is entirely possible that the software you are using was rendered "wonky" by some sort of Microsoft issued hotfix, patch or other upgrade. It's happened before with other products(not Elation or ADJ, I had ProTools 7.4 become useless when MSIE 8 came out, so I had to remove MSIE8).
