Programming a Strobe

Hey guys, long time no talk.

i have a 2 channel dmx strobe that i have been using for a while. Now that i have some time off from the road, i am trying to program it better through compu. I programmed it through compu by just creating a new BLANK page with 2 channels and then setting up a on/off switch to activate the strobe.

During my live shows, i will open up the switch editor and manipulate the strobe rate and intensity manually through the appropriate channel faders.

I often strobe my scanners using the strobe switch that was automatically created when I made my scanner page. however there is a fader within that button that allows me to adjust the rate of strobe.

When i create a new strobe button on my strobe page, i can't manipulate the the rate of strobe within the button's dimmer.

Is there a way to program my strobe light similarly to that of my scanner strobe button?

Wel there are 2 channel profiles for strobes. you can enter in a profile at the same address as your own custom page and then delete your custom page. should use the same channels. but if you dont want to screw with it. there should be an option under either page settings or buttons settings that will let you draw the faders on each button or switch. where can i find the profiles for a 2 channel strobe? i cant find one under the generic listings or the manufacturer's listing.

also where can i find the options under either page or button settings?

Which strobe do you have? OR are the channels ch 1 dimmer and then ch 2 rate of strobe? or vice versa? i can find how to add a dimmer fader or a speed fader to the switch but in the output window it doesn't show it as increasing or decreasing the values. ill look into this further.

Its a chauvet ST-800x DMX mega Strobe. Channel 1 is the rate of strobe and channel 2 is the dimmer.

you should be able to use Elation Protron Star.
Its a 3 channel strobe, but if you modify it using Scan Library Editor, all you need to do is delete channel 3 and it will be a 2 ch strobe.
But using it in 3 channel mode will still do the trick.

no need to make profile for me. i am about to go back the road for a little while, and the elation protron star profile works exactly how i wanted to control the strobe. thank you very much for helping me out with this, you guys are the best
