Scene Setter 24 and Fog Machine

I run the lights for our local middle school. We have a scene setter 24 and recently bought the compatible American Dj Fog Storm 1200hd. How do I connect the two? The control board offers what looks like a midi input for the fog machine button and the fog machine has an input for the controller that looks the same. I have about 100' between the control board and the stage. Suggestions?
