Show designer 1 Locks up

I have a show designer 1 that from time to time just locks up the screen goes to Gibberish. Sometimes I can just turn it off and back on and it works fine again but not always. It will also some time lose all its memory when this happens. Any ideas what could be going on

If this is an older SD1 it might have some internal connections that need to be cleaned. The battery clip sometimes is loose or has a bad connection and the cable to the display can be bad. Sometimes just unplugging the cable and replugging it can clean the contacts.
