Hello,

I recently purchased Compu Live and the corresponding USB-to-DMX converter box. I also bought some sweet Elation Opti RGB LED cans that I plan on controlling with this software.

Thus far, though, I have been unsuccessful. When I try to add the LED lights using the steps described in the Instruction Manual (add a new Page & select the light from the library, etc.), I get all the way to the last step and then the computer freezes. The hour glass icon just sits there, and eventually I'm forced to reboot.

Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening? I'm using Windows 7 32-bit, could that be the problem? Everything I have read thus far indicates that it should work fine with Win7.

I am using the "Sept 29 2009" version of Compu Live 2006, which I downloaded from Elation's web site.

Thanks in advance for any help. Smiler

Wendy,
It may be a problem with the installation of the software. Please uninstall the software, go to your (C: ) Drive and delete the SL2006 folder and then try reinstalling the software. When you renistall the software make sure your DMX interface is NOT connected. After the software installs go ahead and restart your computer and after it boots up connect your interface. It should be installed properly and it should pick up your interface. Let me know how this works out. Good luck Smiler
Thanks for the suggestions.

Jingles, it might be worthwhile for the software installer to not offer the option of installing it elsewhere- or at least to warn that it may not function properly, if that is a risk of doing so.

Most programs default to within the Program Files directory (and personally, this is where I like to keep my applications), so it didn't seem weird or unconventional to me to switch it to that location.

Having said that... I am very happy to hear that a reinstall may fix my problem! Big Grin Looking forward to giving it a whirl tonight. Thanks again. Smiler
