Stage setter-8 Slow to full on?

I have a Stage Setter-8 and when I use the slider, it is very slow to come up to full on. however if I bump it, it will come on immediately. Is there a way to change the delay time? I'd like to try to accomplish this without wiping out my user settings if possible...
